Diners appreciate the friendly staff and quick meal delivery. While some dishes receive high praise—like the tender filled salmon and delicious chicken fruit salad—others fall short, with several guests noting mediocre offerings such as flavorless fish and chips. Despite the mixed reviews on food quality, the restaurant shines in providing a vibrant setting for gatherings, especially for occasions like birthday brunches. While prices may be on the higher end, the overall experience remains enjoyable, making it a popular choice.
If I were you, I would get the filled salmon that was boiled to perfection and fell apart in your mouth. The service is pretty good and so my drink is all at my table enjoying their food.
Very nice servers but food was just ok and the prices were astronomical for the amount and quality of food. I am a local who is used at the prices at all ends of the restaurant scene in DC and this is simply not worth it
The food was great. I especially enjoyed the frits-hot and crisp.
One of the few restaurants in the area with available sit down breakfast on Saturday morning. Very friendly staff and decent food proximity to Waterfront station and Arena stage was key.
Very nice place for Sunday brunch around the corner of Arena Stage, not at the Kai.
