I've visited this restaurant about five times, and the food is consistently good. However, my orders are often slightly incorrect. For instance, yesterday, we didn't receive the ginger ale we ordered, nor did we get a refilled Coke or the right coffee. Additionally, two out of the four desserts we ordered were wrong. Since there's only one waiter serving all the tables, it was difficult to get his attention.

This is a very special place. The nostalgia factor is a huge part of why the experience here is great. You’re transported to the past with an old school dining experience, and a stellar four course menu that leaves nothing more to be desired. Everything from fresh oysters to clams casino to escargot to soft shell crabs, veal, chicken, liver, fresh fish….. the list is immense and yet everything is always so fresh and delicious. There’s nothing you can order that won’t be prepared wonderfully. To boot, the Chef and owner cares immensely about serving you the best products possible- he knows where everything comes from and it’s a fun experience when he comes to the table to share the ingredient’s stories. If you’re into cocktails or wine, you’ll be impressed by the selection here. A lot of Italian gems, and other classic regions are all represented with an emphasis on smaller production wines. When it comes time for the end of the meal, the list of desserts is just as impressive, with a variety of espresso, coffee, teas and after dinner drinks including aged ports, sherries, and a variety of cordials. One thing to note- call ahead to let them know you’re coming, as it will give them time to prepare and enhance the experience.

The old-school restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere. I enjoyed the Barada with tomatoes and peppers, as well as the pork medallions.

The wait for our food was excessively long, and our waiter was hardly around—presumably because he was the only server on duty. I found myself having to continually ask for updates on our food, drinks, and the bill. Honestly, I was ready to leave the restaurant as soon as we could. While the food itself was good, the poor service overshadowed the experience. I know this establishment has a long and respected history, but it didn't come through during our visit. I realize that not every day can be perfect, but it would have been nice to have a manager or owner acknowledge the situation and address the shortcomings we faced.
