I do not speak Italian and I had memorized how to say table for one, please in Italian. Basically, Buongiorno tavolo per Uno per favore . So I walked into this place at about 1:00PM and there there were three men standing behind the bar. When you walk in, the bar is right there in front, and I say my line. And one of the men, let 's call him The Jerk, says no, no, no. One of the other men, let 's call him Middle Man says something to him in Italian, I don 't know what. And, the The Jerk says to me, go get a drink at the bar and a piece of pizza, and points out of the restaurant. This was said to me in English and in such an awful, degrading way I stood there shocked. Middle Man says (in English), You should not talk to her like that. And I said, Have a wonderful day, and left their restaurant. I walked to my car, sat inside and proceeded to cry for the next 15 minutes. Be warned. I cannot recall ever being insulted like this at a restaurant before.
Lovely restaurant on the square of the municipality. The terrace in summer next to the castle is amazing. The local food is of good quality and the selection of wines is wonderful. Make sure to reserve a table in advance during the summer months.
We visited this area of Italy for a weekend away and chose this restaurant for dinner based off other reviews and we were not disappointed! We didn’t book but were given a table outside which was lovely. We do not speak Italian and despite the language barrier our server did the upmost to provide a brilliant service- she was lovely and attempted to translate the menu for us. The food was delicious and so was the wine. I would recommend to anyone in this area wanting an enjoyable dinner out.
