What SFSRPAGP dislikes about Rascard:
To say the staff is unfriendly is an understatement. We were treated very badly because of (not very difficult) dietary requests. Part of the establishment is very outdated. View all feedback.
We went out for full day skiing from Zermatt, and started with breakfast at the Gornergrat restaurant in Switzerland and had planned for a lunch in Italy. Well, we could not have found a better experience than Rascard. It started when we arrived on skis in Valtournenche at midday. The navette shuttle was waiting at the end of the ski slope. A quick chat with the driver, who is also a waiter at the restaurant, made us decide to join him and he dropped us off at the restaurant 10 minutes later. Although we didn 't have a reservation, we were welcomed by the friendly staff who offered us a table in the sun on the terrace with a view on the mountain ridge. There was only an all inclusive menu with wine and digestive which we took without hesitation. Subsequently, the lunch festival started. First, red and white wine and water is served, and the bottles are left on the table so you can refill. In a good pace, we were offered fifteen yes 15! different starters, the one even more tastier than the other. The tastes mix very well, with for example salade caprese, candied onions, carpaccio, polenta, courgette, eggplant, etc. Then we went on with three primi platti different pasta 's. And we had the choice of two main dishes saucage or goulash. The desert was a tiramisu and a digestive grappa to finish it off with a coffee. The price value ratio is very good at 45 euro per person all in.. After the lunch, the cook came over for a chat, and he offered to bring us back to the lift station, so that we were on time to catch the lift back to Switzerland All in all, a very invigorating lunch in an Italian setting that both relaxes and re energizes to continue skiing in good spirit and move on to Switzerland. Highly recommended for adventurers who like good food.

Excellent food, I have been there for a week, eat brakfast and dinner every day. Every dinner I got different courses, each of them great and very very good
I read many good reviews on TripAdvisor, but I think the restaurant is acceptable and not so special. The food is OK, but the selection is small. They have a different menu for people sleeping in the hotel, which I don't think is fair for those who come from a different hotel. The dessert buffet doesn't mean you can get as much as you want of the dessert. They charged me more for getting two pieces of cake instead of one! The quality of food is acceptable. I wouldn't go back there for dinner.
