Unbelievable food! Really an experience of the artistic mastery. Recommend the roasted swordfish and the smoked beef starter. The apple handpis is also from this world! View all feedback.
What Hershel Mante dislikes about Mountain Standard:
I came here with my sister, who is plant based. They were very accommodating and kind. The food though was just average. I ordered the special fish of the day, which was salmon and it was cooked quite well, but nothing really stood out from the plate. One starter was really good and the other was quite bland. The service was good. I’ve been here a few years ago and feel the menu and service were better. View all feedback.
Good lord what an amazing experience. Even the kids meals were outstanding. Top flight one of the best
I have eaten at Mountain Standard every summer in Vail since they opened. This year I was here a week before we were going to be staying in Vail and made a reservation. I wanted a reservation at 7. I was told 5:15 or 8:15. We chose 5:15 and had to pay 25 each to reserve a table. We arrived on time to an empty restaurant. We had dinner and it was not to any standard I have ever had there. At the end of dinner when we left the restaurant was still fairly empty. Very disappointed with the dinner and I was not credited the 50 I put down. I’m still trying to find out if I will get my back. MT Standard was very disappointing .
Food usually good. But tonight missed the mark. Over-priced and over-cooked 48$ tri tip. Only 6 oz. Tri tip is only about 10$/lb. Chowder was ok but missing real taste and small portion. Waitress was prompt but didn't ask if we enjoyed the meal, thus this review.
Very high expectations for our 30th anniversary dinner which fell short. The atmosphere was diminished by too loud 80s pop music (turned down upon request). Interesting entrees turned out to be a bit too complex. The hostess gave her perfunctory happy anniversary but it was never mentioned by wait staff. Understandable that every diner is celebrating some birthday, anniversary, etc. but it would seem providing a small amenity in acknowledgement would be a nice touch. Sorry to say, but disappointed by the overall experience.
Jordan and Shaun made our night. It was an amazing experience from start to finish. It was nice to sit a bar and be welcomed with a smile. Great food recommendations all around. We can't wait to come back!
