The Vasquez 1935 - Uvalde
The Vasquez 1935
Description
A cozy, clean Uvalde favorite serving handmade Mexican classics—standout guacamole, cheese enchiladas, loaded nachos and potent margaritas—at an affordable $10–20 price point. The atmosphere is warm and family-like and staff can be exceptionally attentive, but consistency is a concern: some guests rave about divine sauces and fresh cheese while others report bland dishes, watery/processed cheese and slow service (plus occasional extra charges). Great for casual dinners, groups and locals, but temper expectations around reliability.

The food was not good at all. The cheese that was used tasted like free government cheese. It was horrible. The sauce on the enchiladas was bland. The nachos with cheese were 8 chips with that nasty cheese melted to it. I don't recommend this place at all. Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
The place seemed clean, the waitress was very nice and attentive, the food just didn't do it for me, the Rice, beans, enchiladas were kinda bland compared to other restaurants in the area. The taco and tostada were good. The cheese was almost watery. Guacamole was real, that was very nice. Overall, Not a place I would choose to go, but I have friends that like it. Cathy was awesome. Loved the food. Everything was wonderful! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I can't recommend Vazquez. It feels like a diluted version of Mexican cuisine, and the options are quite limited. I ended up ordering a burger, which was actually decent. However, I was really craving tacos or fajitas. The queso tasted like it was straight out of a can. The service was also lacking. My ratings would be: Food: 3, Service: 1, Atmosphere: 3.
