What Darwin Conroy doesn't like about Snake Charmer:
Couldn't wait to get rid of us!! . Really disappointed at the service tonight! We booked a catchup at snake chamer with friends we hadn't seen in awhile after our recommendation. We were really disappointed at the service! Staff just seemed to want people to go through the cattle run buffet and we not impressed when we ordered ala carte and when we ordered a second bottle of wine for ou table during our meal before 9... Had a Scoopon buffet deal. Although not too many options the varieties are satisfactory. Curries are fine and mild to my like, but not amazing. The final dessert plate, though small in portion sizes, was well presented and tasted very good. They were not too sweet like others places. I would only give 3.5 points if without the dessert.
Very disappointed after went there yesterday for a buffet dinner. The food was very average and not many choices at all. No unlimited desserts too. And the stuff there was trying to ask us to leave after 40 minutes seating there by asking us if we want the dessert, as they offer One super small pudding at the last. We have been to lots of buffet restaurants before in Adelaide, but they are the only one complained about our baby made a bit of noise. Do not go there! for the same price range, go to Fresh Choice Buffet restaurant at Sturt If you live at south. If you live up north, go to Civic Park Buffet restaurant. If you live up the hills, The Hahndorf Old Mill Hotel Buffet will be the one. Also Watermark Hotel Glenelg buffet is the same price range for lunch. All those Buffet restaurants offer much better food, much more choices and unlimited desserts.
We have been here a couple of times now and each time was for the Buffett with friends. Plenty to eat and plenty of choices. My only disappointment was there was no Butter Chicken or Rogan Josh either time, as I like to compare and rate Indian Restaurants based on these dishes. However, having said that the Tandoori Fish and the Squid was Yummy and I went back for another helping of these. The entrees were very nice but my food buddy insisted on trying the Sauce which was marked "Hot" and apparently YES IT WAS!!!! Well if an Indian Restaurant is going to say it is "Hot" then I would take their word for it. The friends that we had taken with us were both recovering from recent Operations and although I had forgotten to specifically ask we were seated very close to the Buffet which was helpful and the one who had had an operation on her hand still managed to be able to cut her own food as the meat was very tender and the rest she could manage as finger food. I did advised our guests before they started to leave room for the Dessert Tasting Plate and they were glad they listened as they thoroughly enjoyed it and ate every morsel off that plate. I did overhear one customer complaining that the Buffet Food could be warmer but as it was a really really cold night I think it would have been hard to keep food hot at home either. Given that, when the food was replenished it did come out hot from the kitchen and it did keep coming so he could have gone up each time for food straight from the kitchen or perhaps ordered straight from the menu and have his hot food served directly to him. The owner to whom he was complaining to did very well to listen to him and keep calm - not sure I could have done it for as long as she did so well done to her. The price was great and the staff were friendly and attentive. The decoration of the restaurant was lovely and authentic and ambiance was really good. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a good night out with friends or for when you really just need your fill of good Indian Food..
Worth a Return Visit. "It was my 1st visit here last night with my partner and neither of us were disappointed. I used a Living Social voucher, which entitled us to a Cocktail, plus a 2 course meal of main and desert. The BBQ meats were presented on a platter to share and included Chicken Sausage, Lamb Chops, Chicken Breast pieces plus Beef Steaks. On a separate plate, in their own individual dishes, were 6 accompaniments - including Raita, a tomato /cucumber and onion salad and a Mushroom sauce. We also received 1/2 a plain and 1/2 a garlic Naan Bread each. Everything was just so delicious - couldn't fault anything. Desert was a selection of 3 mini presentations (including Chai Tea Panna Cotta and Gulab Jamun), served with a small scoop of ice cream - just enough to finish off the meal nicely. The service was impeccable and despite the restaurant being fairly full and busy, we received prompt attention and didn't want for anything. A... read more
My wife and I love this place and we went again last night. The staff are always lovely and the food is fantastic. They had a chicken, beef and lamb curry available and all were delicious. The pakoras and naan bread were great also. They are always accommodating with our 2 kids, We will keep coming back!
