The cafe is quite busy, so be prepared to wait a bit for brunch—average wait times were around 15 to 30 minutes. This might have been due to a large group that arrived just before us. The staff is friendly, the portions are generous, and the food is delicious. I ordered the chilaquiles and southwest rice, paired with a side of perfectly cooked bacon, while my partner enjoyed the breakfast burrito, which was also scrumptious! I couldn't resist trying it since I love food. I also sipped on a flavorful prickly pear lemonade. And don't forget to grab a couple of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies on your way out. This spot serves fantastic local cuisine, and I will definitely return the next time we're in Tucson.
The service for a cyclist in need of food and water was outstanding. The jalapeño bacon was fantastic, and the Mesquite pancake definitely warrants a return visit. However, the sausage gravy was off - it was bland and missing sausage, and it seemed to be made with a premixed biscuit flour rather than traditional flour. The outdoor seating felt a bit mismatched for the season. I would suggest offering plates instead of plastic containers for those dining just outside the back of the restaurant.
The service for a bicyclist in need of food and water was fantastic. Jalapeño bacon was really tasty Mesquite pancake was worth going back for Sausage gravy was weird. Not much seasoning or sausage. Also, tasted a bit like they used premix biscuit flour, rather than flour in the gravy. Outside seating seemed out of season. I'd encourage they use their plates, not plastic containers, for people who are going to eat just steps outside the back.
I had the grilled veggie sandwich with prickly pear slaw. Was a smaller portion than I expected but was tasty. Service for take out was a 40 min wait which was too long. There?s a courtyard behind where you can eat outside.
