The Junction
Description
Nestled in Troy, Vermont, this small retro eatery is prized for hearty, homemade comfort food—from breakfast and mac-and-cheese to burgers, whoopie pies and a standout lemon meringue. Warm, family-friendly service, a cozy chef’s table and speedy takeout make it a favorite before ski days, while a quirky tradition of patrons pinning money to the ceiling raises funds for charity. Its devoted local following praises consistent flavors and generous portions, though occasional lapses in service and cleanliness have been reported.

We ordered from this restaurant a couple of times in one week and genuinely enjoyed the food, particularly the burgers, fries, and sweet potato fries. However, be cautious when you enter, as the whoopie pies are dangerously delicious! They're about the size of a small cake, so it's probably best to share—though I won't judge you if you don't! We opted for takeout and called in our order, which was ready in just 20 minutes. The interior is small but offers ample seating. Interestingly, patrons attach money to the ceiling, which the restaurant donates to charity.
I've been going there for breakfast every weekend for about three years. I wouldn't keep returning if it weren't excellent.
The breakfast here is excellent and reasonably priced. The homemade toast is particularly delightful.
