It was unsettling for us and ultimately led... read more The menu at this restaurant appears impressive, but our discomfort stemmed from the fact that they serve whale meat. It was unsettling for us and ultimately led to us leaving the establishment. I feel it's important to warn others who may also feel uncomfortable with this menu option.

The staff were friendly and well-informe... read more The restaurant offers a good selection of vegan and vegetarian options, clearly labeled on a separate part of the menu. The staff were friendly and well-informed about dietary restrictions. We began with spicy edamame and roasted sriracha almonds. Although the summer rolls were listed as containing tofu on the menu, they actually came with mango, but were still delicious. We shared the Thai red curry (which lived up to its rave reviews) and tofu pancakes (reminiscent of duck pancakes, with cucumber, spring onion, carrot, and hoisin sauce). Unfortunately, there was only sorbet available for dessert for me, but my husband enjoyed the fried banana served with ice cream, which he said was also delicious.

The nudelsuppe is like a red curry and was delicious and delicate. There is a whole vegetarian menu with the vegan items clearly marked. The staff are really friendly and it felt like a fancy atmosphere somewhere nice to go out.

The food came really quickly looked awesome and the wine was a perfect mach and the perfect temperature. The waiter came after a short wile to check if i was happy, and i was the taste was excellent and i asked for more soya and he replied fast. I am a certified master chef mi self for 30 years in the restaurant business from iceland i I can sei this was a nice experience. Thank you guys and keep it up

The food was average and nothing remarkable, despite trying both set menus which provided ample opportunities for the restaurant to impress. Overall, aside from the waiter, this was quite disappointing.

The restaurant h... read more We visited the restaurant in July and decided to try the tapas for the first time. The presentation was beautiful and the flavors were amazing. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere with nice decor. I noticed other diners' dishes, especially the sushi, and it all looked great. I will have to try the sushi next time! The service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff. My only small criticism is that the tapas was a bit pricey at 479 NOK each for the portion size, but I understand prices in Norway can be higher. I believe other items on the menu offer better value for money. However, I am still looking forward to coming back again.

I was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience at this restaurant, from the decor to the friendly staff and delicious food. I was looking for a light dinner and the staff were very helpful in explaining the menu and helping me choose the perfect dish. I had been searching for a vegan restaurant in Tromsø and the reviews for Suvi were spot on. The service, hospitality, and cooking were all top-notch. Great job, guys!

Tromso has stunning nature, wildlife, and the added bonus of cold weather, darkness, and Norwegians all around. However, one thing I don't particularly like about Norwegians is their eating habits. Norway is one of the few countries that still hunts whales, and many restaurants mainly serve fish (not necessarily whale). In Tromso, Suvi has received great reviews from vegans, and for good reason. It's a cozy restaurant with friendly staff and a significant vegan menu. The staff recommended the red curry, which was filled with crunchy fresh vegetables and well-cooked tofu in a spicy sauce, served with white rice. The meal was delicious and filling, so I didn't need any starters or desserts. I went back a few days later to try the stir-fried tofu, which turned out to be spicier than expected. Once again, the food was beautifully presented and tasted great. I tried to return to Suvi again without a reservation, but they were fully booked. I didn't want to sit at the bar and look at a display of dead fish, so I decided to pass. Lesson learned: always make reservations at Suvi!

Not many (if any? restaura... read more These people are pro’s and me and my company were very content with the food. I would give 5 stars for the vegan dishes on their own. Not many (if any? restaurants in Tromsø have separate vegan and vegetarian menus, but Suvi has!! They took a while to serve our main dish though, in the rush of Saturday evening. I ate: Vegan Dim Sum (starter : quite fancy! soy mince and veggies wrapped and steamed, good spicing, dipping in soy sauce. Yummy! Vegan Red curry: perfect creamy consistency, strong taste, quite spicy yet not burning. Recommended! Ordered without the soy pieces due to allergy, they didn’t have any other protein substitute, so got a bit more veggies instead… still wow! Avocado nigiri (also vegan : not the best composition, hard to grab whole without the avokado falling off and the rice splits. So exactly what I did: Split the nigiri in half first, then it worked to dip ‘em in the soy sauce. Still very good avokado and taste!
