Description

In Totnes, café culture offers a spectrum of experiences. While some establishments delight with delicious food and friendly service, others fall short. Diners report inconsistency, with complaints of cold coffee, burnt breakfasts, and long wait times despite a half-filled café. Service issues seem prevalent, as patrons note frustration in order delivery and a lack of attentiveness. In contrast, several cafes, like The Brioche, shine with efficient service, diverse menu options, and a welcoming atmosphere. With reasonable prices and quality offerings, it stands out as a local favorite, proving that charm and great food can coexist beautifully.

The staff are really good. They went out of their way to ensure that the service was good and we never had empty plates on the table for long. The food portions however were not so good. I had a breakfast which was just a...slice of bacon, one egg and some beans with slice of toast. It could hardly be called a breakfast. The food tasted good though so the quality of food was definitely good enough. We also had cake which was good. My wife had a cream tea here which was her third cream tea of the week! This little cafe had the best cream tea of them all apparently.

Had an amazing cream tea at Brioche Cafe in Totnes on a visit to Devon. It was one of those “really hits the spot” moments. With Devon’s reputation for the best cream teas (cream first, then jam), it lived up to our high expectations. Perfect warm scones, crazy thick cream and just the right amount of delicious local jam. Proper job my lover!

Went for a spot of saturday lunch a family of four. Two young boys on the counter, very slow with no customer skills. Ordered our food and it came out in fits and starts none of us had our meal together. The final meal arrived 30 mins after we received first one. No apolgises just shrugged shoulders. Not really dificult orders Fish fingers Chips, 2 portions of cheesy chips, Sandwich jacket potato.
