Description

The Curator Kitchen is a modern osteria opened in March 2015, located above The Curator Cafe. Our focus is on sourcing local, seasonal, and sustainable ingredients to create dishes that reflect Italian traditions. Our menu changes monthly to highlight the best produce available in South Devon, as well as featuring Italian Food Heroes specialties such as cured meats, cheeses, and unique wines imported directly from small wineries in Italy. In addition to serving breakfast, brunch, and lunch daily with options like poached eggs, sandwiches, small plates, and fresh pasta, we also offer dinner on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

While I have given an average rating, we were quite disappointed with our experience and feel it should be rated below average. However, we are hesitant to give a "poor" rating.

My wife, son, his fiancée, and I unexpectedly had a great experience at this airport restaurant. Despite the crowded and noisy environment, we were seated promptly and served drinks while we looked over the menu. The cheeseburger was fantastic, my wife raved about the mac and cheese, and my son and his fiancée enjoyed a delicious vegan dish. The restaurant even offers multiple options for vegan diners. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised and would rate it higher than five stars.

The restaurant is simply stunning, with beautifully presented dishes served in a relaxed atmosphere. It's no surprise that it's not higher on the Tripadvisor list as the best cafe/restaurant in Totnes.

I have had supper here in a few occasions but not lunch. One may be mistaken that this is just a cafe serving excellent coffee and cantuccini and indeed it is but upstairs at lunchtimes they have a lightish menu that is inventive and just right. In fact you could graze on their small bites all day long. Excellent wines complete the picture of tasty, simple and nourishing delights that remind one of local trattorias in Italy. Simple tables and very helpful staff make this such a pleasant place to spend a few hours.

This was my top pick after researching dinner options in Totnes and I wasn't disappointed. We skipped the tasting menu and went for 2 courses instead. The Antipasti was delicious and a large portion (I had the fava bean pizzette). To be honest I could have stopped there, but I enjoyed the Parmigiano Secondi that followed.
