Friendly little place on the main road, lovely people, simple menu. Fantastic ingredients, great wine, what's there not to like. We found this place a real breath of fresh air compared to most other places we ate in during our stay in Devon, it was... View all feedback.
What CLSDean doesn't like about Ben's Wine Tapas:
Stumbled over Ben's Wine Tapas the idea of combining the two sat well with us (not knowing what we were getting into). Fortunately, for the dishes ordered, all were consistently tasty and our kids consumed each one eagerly fried squid, antipasti cured... View all feedback.
Tapas always feels a bit expensive, so it wasn't out when the usual. the Veggie decisions we chose were veganized for us and a nice waiter spoke to us about the options. everything we are was very tasty. weine that are not vegan marked, but we googled and found many are.
We had a nice meal here, it was not bad, but also not remarkable. some dishes were delicious, but some were pretty bland and I could not believe how much they calculate for a small bowl salat leaves! no desserts except sorbet, which is always somewhat disappointing.
A tasty bite to find a vegan menu with imaginative, unusual tapas dishes, immaculately prepared, they have a very competent cook. we tried polnta with mushrooms, roasted cauliflower with harissa, patatas band, sweet mais and tofu frits. the passion fruit sorbet was exceptional, perfect tangy and tasty. a great selection of weeps but I'm not sure how many vegans were. great personal, very professional and efficient and important, happy that my dog sits with me, good music, good mood. if that was just a Veggie place, it would be quite perfect! updated by the previous review on 2018-09-07
I was glad to find opening on Monday evening at 20 o'clock, as most restaurants in dead until then are closed. I was even more pleased that they have a separate vegan tapas menu. I had an salate, Tofu butter and a Polnta dish. all three were excellent. there is a very large selection of crying, but I didn't check if it were vegan. the staff was friendly and friendly. I would give 5 stars for the quality of eating and service. but ben’s not vegan, not even vegetarian, I gave it a total of three. it would be great if they had become vegan.
We had luck winning here a meal, absolutely wonderful eating and definitely recommend, even if they never had tapas, much space to sit comfortably and the house wine is the best I ever had... many thanks to mary ellen keith
