we were in instow on holiday and liked the view of this pub as it seemed like a “local” pub. couple of young male bar offers that were friendly and a loan to the pub. we had both the fish special of the lemon sole and it was beautiful. we sat in the window near the fire and had a really nice evening. What philipjoecarman doesn't like about The Quay Inn:
We went here in the hope of something to eat as the boards in the village advertise food served all day. This was about 1.45 on a Monday and we got our hopes up when seeing a couple being served a pasty However when we then went in the landlord ? who had seen us walk in after him didn't ask us what we wanted and we had to approach him. I asked him if he had any menus and he said they aren't serving food today. My wif... View all feedback.

A very friendly little pub. simple menu at this time of the year, but served torten hot and large portions. good bier and wine choice. very few tables come so early, unless it is warm enough to sit outside.
My friends and I visited this restaurant on Saturday 17th for drinks and a light lunch, and we enjoyed it so much that we made a reservation to come back for Sunday roast the next day. The food was delicious with very generous portions, perfectly cooked vegetables, and the honey roast gammon was the best I've had in years. The atmosphere of the pub is classic with simple furnishings and locals coming and going. They have a good selection of local ciders and beers. The pub is located right on the riverfront with both indoor and outdoor seating. Thankfully, they have their own small car park so remember to register your car when you arrive. The menu is simple but offers good value for money, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The landlady is great and clearly knows her business. They also welcomed our dogs as it is a very dog-friendly village. We will definitely be returning when we are next in North Devon.
We love this pub - it's so peaceful and unassuming, making it a wonderful place to unwind. We often come here on the weekends to relax, and we went yesterday to celebrate my birthday. It was perfectly mellow and we loved it. The ale, wines, food, and olives were all fantastic. Keep up the great work!
What an excellent restaurant! The staff was very friendly and provided great service. The food was amazing. We stopped here during our bike ride and sat outside, enjoying the beautiful view of the waterfront. I tried the cheese and cauliflower soup for the first time and it was delicious. My partner had the sticky glazed pork, both dishes were fantastic. We will definitely be returning. Thank you for being so accommodating. Good customer service is always a priority for me.
