I took my husband here for his birthday dinner and it was unforgettable. The food was incredibly well prepared with so many different elements to them. The portion sizes were perfect, the place was visually beautiful. So glad such a gem is not that far from us. We have already planned to visit again. A credit to the owners! Great for a couples night out or with a group of friend who appreciate fine dining.
Another excellent meal at the best restaurant on the area. First time for us at their lovely new home across the river. Food always outstanding and Chloe does a fabulous job on front of house. If we are down in Devon this is the first place we book for a meal.
NUMBER EIGHT: We have had the privilege of dining at some incredible restaurants across Europe, but we can confidently say that our experience at Number Eight was one of the best. The food quality, creativity, and presentation were flawless. If this restaurant doesn't deserve a Michelin star, then nothing does!
Although it's not a place we typically go to, we decided to try something new and were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and exceeded our expectations.
We were extremely dissatisfied with our experience at this restaurant as pescatarians/vegetarians. The options provided were lacking in thought and flavor. The breaded aubergine served as a substitute for lamb was particularly uninspiring, with no taste at all. The chargrilled courgette offered in place of chicken was also disappointing. At a price of £85, we were thoroughly unimpressed. Those who do not eat meat should probably avoid this restaurant as it is clear that the chef isn't interested in catering to non-meat eaters. Additionally, the service was subpar considering the cost; we had to refill our own water and wine.
