Moss Trooper
3.8 / 5 (3101 reviews)

Description

At Moss Trooper, the dining experience appears to be a mixed bag, appealing to some while disappointing others. While the cozy ambiance and friendly staff have won praise from many patrons, concerns regarding service and food quality persist. Highlights include a fantastic Christmas meal, exquisite dishes like lamb rump, and positive remarks on the atmosphere. However, some visitors reported underwhelming meals with small portions and long waits. Overall, diners seem eager to return, drawn by the potential for great food and service, yet also express caution based on inconsistent experiences. Moss Trooper remains a venue with promise.

Great food, good service but need the steak ale pie back on the menu though!

We have been waiting for almost an hour since placing our food order. I've nearly finished my bottle of wine. It's no surprise that the restaurant is only half full on a Saturday night.

I recently went to Moss Trooper for the first time and I must say, the staff was fantastic - very polite and helpful. The food was delicious as well. The manager...

I have visited this restaurant twice in the last month with my family and both times were a complete disappointment. The service was very poor, the staff were rude, and the beer was terrible.

I ordered the chicken butter curry and found it to be average. However, at a price of £14.95, I felt like I was overcharged as the portion size was small in comparison to what our friends received. The staff could be more attentive as we had to wait a while to order dessert and eventually had to go to the bar to ask for the bill. When I got home, I had beans on toast as I was still hungry. The manager showed no interest and dismissively brushed off my concerns. I will not be returning and will opt to spend my money at the Gardeners Arms next time for better value.
