The Powell - Thanet
The Powell
Description
A once beloved restaurant has now taken a nosedive, with terrible service and disappointing food. Some patrons find the high prices not worth the lackluster experience. Despite its high rating, others were left unimpressed with the service and quality of the food. However, there were positive experiences shared as well, with standout dishes and friendly staff. Overall, this restaurant seems to be hit or miss, with some customers vowing never to return while others are willing to give it another chance. The overall consensus is that the establishment needs a complete overhaul to regain its former glory.

Wonderful place for sitting with friends on a beautiful day in the beer garden.
Wonderful Sunday roast after a long walk will be back sooner rather than later ! We had roast beef and roast chicken all cooked beautifully x couldn't finish portion as so large x smiling staff comfortable to be in and we aren't normally pub people ! Thank you to the chef !
We found The Powell by chance and what a fabulous place. It was fish chips night. The food was excellent quality and also good portions. Beer was also well kept. Bring a Friday there was also music. The musician was very good, who also sang happy birthday for our friend. Also very dog friendly
Very nice food great value for money was a offer night so two for price of one on the fish and chips good amount of food and very tasty too great service friendly helpful staff
My husband and I dined at The Powell. We went on a Thursday evening which is their Special Steak night Buy 1 get 1 free. The ribeye was tender and cooked just to our liking, the chips are triple cooked so are very crisp on the outside and so soft inside. Comes with fresh tomatoes and mushrooms. Comes with a rich tasting cheese sauce and peppercorn one. We asked for no salt in either sauces and served extra hot, no salt on the steak either or the chips ! Well worth s visit !!
