Description

Cramptons Bar in Broadstairs offers a mixed experience that reveals both potential and pitfalls. While many patrons appreciate the generous £5 lunch deal and commend the staff’s friendliness and attentiveness, some report disappointing food quality, notably tough burgers and soggy rice. The atmosphere is generally inviting, highlighted by a beautiful beer garden, but the decor shows wear. Complaints about service speed linger, suggesting a need for improvement during busy times. Overall, Cramptons stands out for its value and welcoming staff, yet it faces challenges that could hinder a consistently satisfying dining experience.

Yesterday on August 20th, 2020, three adults and three children met for lunch at the restaurant. We had one of the beach huts, which the children adored. It was a lovely and cool atmosphere on a beautiful day. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food was exceptional and well worth the price. They even helped with a surprise birthday cake. We always enjoy coming here. Our overall experience was a perfect 10 out of 10.

When the food finally arrived, I bit into my burger and immediately spat it out. It was tough and overcooked, with an overwhelming amount of sage. It was truly disgusting and reminded me of a Gordon Ramsay moment. The chili con carne was okay, but the rice was soggy. It's a shame because there is so much potential at this restaurant with a good chef.

We visited Cramptons late on a Saturday about 3.00pm and were lucky as the kitchen closes at 3.15pm. We ordered the large salsa nachos to share. When they came up the plate was huge with nachos covered in melted cheese, salsa, jalapeno peppers and separate pots of guacemole and sour cream. They were delicious and more than enough for two.I am disabled and in a wheelchair and they have a big disabled toilet which is spotlessly clean but has no lock so if people who can't be bothered to use the ordinary toilets need to go they can just walk in! Luckily this did not happen to me. I presume it is for safety reasons in case someone gets stuck in there. We read the menu while waiting for our food and they really have a lovely selection which is very reasonably priced. The other customers were really helpful holding the doors open so my husband could get me out in the wheelchair as the door opening is quite narrow.Altogether a great place and we will be back.

We booked a table for 5 and the weather meant that we could sit outside. Great meal and so was service. We do come here now and again because of the prices and service. Always recommend this place.

I have visited many times for lunch as they do a good deal at £5 for starter and main. The staff are friendly and the food portions are generous. Unfortunately, it takes an age to get your dinner and myself and several of my colleagues have stopped visiting as it takes too long to get food if you're in a rush. I won't be returning unless I have plenty of time unfortunately as my lunch still hadn't arrived and I had to go back to work. The more senior staff dealt with the complaint maturely although the younger one didn't inform me there would be a wait and claimed after 55 minutes I'd only been waiting 20 minutes.
