Jack’s Patch Garden Centre has emerged as a popular destination for light meals and refreshments, attracting visitors with its beautiful setting overlooking the River Teign Estuary. Despite a well-organized atmosphere and a diverse menu, reviews highlight mixed experiences regarding service and food quality. While many appreciate the pleasant staff and appealing surroundings, others voice concerns about noisy advertising displays, overpriced items, and occasional food shortages, such as the absence of cream teas. Overall, while some visitors relish the charming environment and quality offerings, others suggest improvements are needed to enhance the dining experience.

I have always enjoyed coming here for the plants and the food. However, the plant area seemed to be understaffed as many of the plants and shrubs were in need of water. It used to be a great place to eat and relax, but the service has become very poor. It took 22 minutes to get a cup of coffee while waiting in line with 9 other people. The staff really need better training. Even though we spent over £100, this will be our final visit unless there are improvements made.

We visited Jacks Patch on Bank Holiday Monday for lunch, we found an offer on their website for an over 60’s lunch deal which is well worth asking about.

I visited this garden centre with my family. There is ample parking. The large display of plants is impressive but overall they are expensive compared with offers on the internet.

The restaurant is still experiencing staffing issues, resulting in slow service at the till. One staff member only handled coffee orders, while another seemed distracted and repeatedly talked to herself while taking orders. This led to frustratingly long wait times, suggesting a need for better training. The highlight of the meal was the pickle in the sandwich, but the chips were undercooked and cheap. Additionally, there appeared to be confusion with table numbers, as we were almost given someone else's order. Overall, there is a clear need for improved organization and efficiency.

Hadn 't been for a few weeks and it was really good to see the restaurant looking reinvigorated with lots of choice. Staff very friendly and helpful. Large delicious portions and the 'seniors ' discount is incredibly good value for money.
