Moorish, a restaurant nestled in Ashburton, has garnered mixed reviews from visitors. While some diners praised its vibrant atmosphere and flavorful tapas, others found the portion sizes disappointing and the service lacking. Dishes like the patatas and kebabs received commendation, whereas items such as the sticky pork ribs and pitta bread with houmous drew criticism for their quality and price. Despite some complaints about slow service and drink preparation, many customers enjoyed their meals and appreciated the friendly staff. Overall, Moorish presents a charming dining experience, but patrons are encouraged to explore the town for other culinary delights.

What JemFriar dislikes about Moorish:
We had an extraordinarily small tapas for 2 selection last week. Half a pitta bread with a smear of houmous would not be considered a tapas dish anywhere around the Mediterranean. The other dishes were equally sparse. Tasted nice but was still hungry £20s later! View all feedback.

Excellent tapas. Tasty and different. Fantastic babaganoosh, awesome chickpeas and super tasty courgettes. We all enjoyed everything. The portions are good but you need plenty. We ordered 15 tapas dishes between 3 adults and 2 kids. Delicious xx

Very friendly service , great choice of tapas dishes, interesting flavours. I can recommend the ribs, meatballs and the chorizo.

We ended up at this restaurant by mistake (long story) what a perfect mistake ! Our shared starter of bread and olives sounds ordinary but was amazing the citrus marinade, olive variety plus fresh home made bread ... mmmmm delicious !

We visited this establishment for breakfast with our family of six whilst holidaying in the local area. The service was friendly and efficient and the breakfast was fresh, and delicious. The children enjoyed hot chocolates and I really enjoyed a dairy free cappuccino made with oat milk replacement. Our daughter is gluten and dairy free and they accommodated her with gluten free sausages. We will definitely be back. Our son enjoyed playing chess whilst we waited for our breakfast. Great atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit. Worth knowing if they don’t have what you fancy on the menu they are open to requests e.g my son fancied a bacon sandwich and they kindly made one.
