Home style pub food, good sized portions. Looks like a favourite with the truckies. We had the rump steak (rare) and crumbled lamb cutlets. Lamb was good and my partner rated the steak highly. Forgot to add, it was really good value. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Horse and Jockey Hotel:
Venue is supposed to open at 11, arrived at 12:23 and not open, by the looks of the homeless people living in the carpark the food would have been terrible. No ragrets View all feedback.

We were driving from Melbourne to Sydney in a day and had been on the road from around 8am when we came across the Horse & Jockey whilst looking for a toilet/service station. We decided to eat here as it was locally owned and made a change from the usual highway stop off/eateries.We went in around 3pm and I actually think they had stopped serving food then but kindly made us five different meals from the kitchen. We had a chicken burger, chicken and mushroom fettuccine, margarita pizza, two turkish cheese melts and some wedges with sweet chilli sauce and sour cream between us. Each meal was really delicious and completely filled us up until bed time tonight.Worth the (tiny) detour off the highway for a visit.
We had dinner at this pub. It it very old school! The dinner was basic but good, the beer was cold, the service was friendly, and they have a kids menu. Worth a look if you are in town!
Like many others I suspect, stopped here for a dinner enroute to Melbourne. Great pub food (simple, tasty, and very moor-ish), friendly service, a game of pool after dinner. As others have said, do yourself a favour, get off the highway and away from the roadhouses, this place is worth the very minor detour.
