Description

Welcome to our unassuming little Inn, a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Nestled along a breathtaking 30-mile single-track coastal road in Argyll, we offer stunning views of the majestic islands that dot the horizon. Inside, you’ll find a warm welcome coupled with casual comfort and fabulous food that will delight your senses. Our seasonal set menus are a true reflection of the local terroir, showcasing the very best of what our region has to offer. From garden-fresh herbs and rich Gigha milk to Kintyre eggs, succulent Knapdale venison and beef, Kilberry lamb, and freshly landed seafood from Tarbert, each dish is crafted with care. We also feature a thoughtfully curated selection of interesting wines, local beers, and a range of Scottish gins and whiskies, particularly from our nearby Campbeltown and island neighbours. For those looking to linger a little longer, our Inn boasts five stylish double bedrooms—ideal for a romantic getaway or a small travelling party. The rooms are set around a charming courtyard, complete with seating for sunny afternoons and a fire pit for those cooler evenings. Each room offers independent access, en-suite shower rooms, and the finest bedding and toiletries to ensure a restful stay. Uncover historic monuments, enjoy scenic walks, cycle through breathtaking landscapes, or challenge yourself on championship golf courses. For the adventurous, we offer sailing opportunities, excursions to nearby islands, and a chance to witness the abundant wildlife—perfect for bird and otter watching. And don’t miss the deserted beaches and spectacular sunsets that make this region truly special. Come and experience the warmth of our Inn and the beauty of Argyll.

In great cities you expect to be able to find a first class restaurant. In remote wilderness areas you'd probably not have that expectation, which is why the Inn is so exceptional. The effortless cordiality that David dispenses at front of house is matched by superb food from Clare's kitchen. Add a sensibly-priced wine list and quietly effective wait staff and you have a memorable experience.

Great food and hospitality. After years of delightful visits we've introduced our children and now our four month old grandson. Our absolute family favourite

You honestly couldn't ask for a more perfect experience. David is the warmest and most knowledgeable host. He made us feel so welcome and gave great recommendations. The food was so delicious: we loved every mouthful. And to top it off, the room was so comfortable with loads of thoughtful finishing touches. We can't wait to go back!

I visited the Kilberry Inn for the second time hoping for another exceptional dining experience like my first visit. However, I was disappointed with the food this time. The Queenies queen scallops were served with unnecessary additions that didn't enhance the dish. The hake I had was just okay, nothing special. I don't think I will be in a hurry to go back.
