The Yama can be found in the QVB on level 2. The service is extremely friendly and was also quite quick for us. The food is of really good quality, everything tastes excellent, there is also a very good Japanese beer, no excessive prices. The restaurant is definitely recommended and almost all tables were always occupied. View all feedback.
What Francisco Weissnat doesn't like about Yama Japanese Cafe Restaurant:
we had the Age-Dashi tofu and matcha battered barramundi for lunch. the portion size for the barramundi was unexpectedly large, but it was really delicious and the price worth the Age-Dashi tofu was also really good, especially the texture and aroma. the texture was very silky and the taste was very good. Favorite restaurant in the city! Beautiful, quiet and sophisticated setting on the top level of QVB. The service is friendly and know what you do. Food ... now the food .... Amazing. The price is worth what you get, and the flavors are so delicious. I recommend the cold soba noodles, the udon noodles or pretty much everything! I like going on a Saturday afternoon and get a cake with tea, but I never go without getting a lemon cake! This lemon dancers, I will bring my grave
For the first time here with a special Japanese garden tea, rich in aroma. There are in QVBS buildings. Love all decorations and all renewed in QVB interior. Good service!!
The food here is pretty good and the taste is just about my expectation. The Sashimi plate is a high proportion as they can have 3-4 fish species, and all very thick.
The first time I ventured here, was in 2012 with my mum, when she told me she knew a place in the City to eat lunch. Ever since, I've been hear almost 9-10 times probably to date. Definitely a great and convenient place to catch up with friends/family over lunch or dinner. Right at the top of QVB, it's cosy, not too loud, high away from all the bustling of the City. Would definitely recommend the cake and coffee deal which they serve during arvo tea for $10ish. Also, would recommend the bento boxes (particularly teriyaki chicken), and if you're adventurous, try the green tea battered fish and chips. The service is as expected, but the environment is what gives raises my review mark. Definitely recommend. :)
A delicious and generous green tea plate with green tea and accompanying chips was followed with a fresh array of Sashimi (bright red tuna with glowing irange salmon) and some sushi with side salad. All ingredients were wonderfully fresh and serves quickly and polite from pleasant employees. The atmosphere was great at a busy thursday shopping shopping evening. The food is first class fresh and delicious. Will be here soon. The prices are with similar locations in the CBD.
