Subsolo, a popular Spanish restaurant in Sydney, has unfortunately closed its doors for good. Many loyal customers have been left disappointed by recent changes in both the menu and management, leading to a decline in the quality of food and overall dining experience. Complaints about underwhelming portion sizes, lackluster presentation, and inconsistent dishes have been prevalent. Despite these negative reviews, some diners have still praised the restaurant for its attentive service, cozy atmosphere, and tasty tapas options. If you're in the mood for Spanish cuisine, you may want to check out other spots in North Sydney like Delicado Foods Wines for a more satisfying dining experience.

Was veganvampire at Subsolo a mag?
A friend recommended this restaurant for the location and at the beginning were reluctant to go because the Spanish restaurants in Sydney do not endow with very good reputation, only to say that it surprised us a lot !! the food was delicious, everything had a lot of flavor and it shows that it was of quality, it caught our attention that some dishes had fusion with Oriental products, this combination seemed to us ve... What IBaldwin dislikes about Subsolo:
Sadly this place has shut for good. It was a great restaurant but not anymore. There is another great tapas bar in North Sydney that I can recommend. It is called Delicado Foods Wines, McMahons Point 134 Blues Point Road, McMahons Point, Sydney. View all feedback.

Many people pass this restaurant daily, without realizing! In any case, a twist on everyday life to try Spanish cuisine and not disappointed. The Paella was delicious and made in 20 minutes, which is pretty coupled for the slow cooked food. The ambience was weakly lit and romantic, but at the same time suitable for a workload or with narrow friends.

If you like tapas Subsolo is a must.<br/ We went on a weekday and didn’t book- luckily the place is pretty large and most people were at the bar. <br/ <br/ The drinks were lovely, I had the best sangria I’ve ever had. The food menu is big and I felt there was something for everyone. The patatas bravas with aioli were amazing! <br/ <br/ My only gripe was the slight smell of fat- however I understand that it’s difficult to ventilate an underground restaurant. <br/ <br/ I will be back next time I’m in Sydney for sure, there’s a lot more on the menu for me to try!<br/ <br/

I’ve been there once, food was great last time esp the pork belly tapas was memorable so I went back for it. However it became one of the worst dishes of the night. The crackling was rubbery salty, unlike last time, it was crispy not as salty. They charge $24 for 4 small cubes, not really worth the money. I hate restaurants inconsistent in their food. The other bad dish we had was the meatballs. It was dry (both outside inside) and a bit of gamey taste. <br/ <br/ Apart from that two tapas, everything was good. The Bacalao salt cod croquettes were tasty freshly prepared. The chicken fillets rump was tender with charred taste. Seafood paella was al dente but a tad salty, still bearable. <br/ <br/ Great environment, great service. Food is a little pricey. Paella is quite small for the price they charge. The Espetada grills as well, 1 skewer with small chips salad min costs $34....
