A friend recommended this restaurant for the location and at the beginning were reluctant to go because the Spanish restaurants in Sydney do not endow with very good reputation, only to say that it surprised us a lot !! the food was delicious, everything had a lot of flavor and it shows that it was of quality, it caught our attention that some dishes had fusion with Oriental products, this combination seemed to us ve... What IBaldwin doesn't like about Subsolo:
Sadly this place has shut for good. It was a great restaurant but not anymore. There is another great tapas bar in North Sydney that I can recommend. It is called Delicado Foods Wines, McMahons Point 134 Blues Point Road, McMahons Point, Sydney. View all feedback.
The service was great, the restaurant had a charming atmosphere and the food was delicious. It's a good spot for hanging out with friends or going on a date. The location is convenient, so make sure to book ahead. The prices are affordable and I will definitely be returning.
Subsolo is a Spanish tapas restaurant located in Sydney's CBD. I recently visited to celebrate a friend's birthday, as he was craving paella. While most of the food was delicious as always, the paella was just average. The wait staff were friendly and they make a fantastic sangria.
I went to Subsolo for my birthday dinner three weeks ago. The staff were very friendly, the atmosphere was warm, and the decoration was nice. The food was delicious, as we chose three dishes from the menu. I highly recommend trying the meat skewers as your main course. We had one lamb skewer and one beef skewer, and both were very tasty.
I spent the last summer in Spain... Lunch times usually meant tapas or a bocadillo with jamon. Which is why I was so excited to try Subsolo. This would be my first flashback to #thatsummerinspain. But before we go on, a Sangria please!
I’ve been there once, food was great last time esp the pork belly tapas was memorable so I went back for it. However it became one of the worst dishes of the night. The crackling was rubbery salty, unlike last time, it was crispy not as salty. They charge $24 for 4 small cubes, not really worth the money. I hate restaurants inconsistent in their food. The other bad dish we had was the meatballs. It was dry (both outside inside) and a bit of gamey taste. <br/ <br/ Apart from that two tapas, everything was good. The Bacalao salt cod croquettes were tasty freshly prepared. The chicken fillets rump was tender with charred taste. Seafood paella was al dente but a tad salty, still bearable. <br/ <br/ Great environment, great service. Food is a little pricey. Paella is quite small for the price they charge. The Espetada grills as well, 1 skewer with small chips salad min costs $34....
