Amazing experience. That should probably be 6 out of 5stars. Superb Indian Jain food options available. A perfect lunch date destination for us. We cannot forget the complimentary Ras Malai Dessert we got. Thank you. View all feedback.
What Julia Murray doesn't like about Zaaffran:
Overlooking darling harbor, this restaurant has a view to die for . The food however is a series of hits and misses. The starters we ordered were papdi chaat and alu tikki, both of which were excellent though overpriced. The mains ordered were dal and veg sabzi which were strictly average. The portions are small, the food decent though overpriced. View all feedback.
We waited for 50 minutes and after the success of one of the employees said they forgot the order and then they were not to address a new order. the extremely rude staff came to our table and started screaming. absolutely no excuses. by each including manager. two times, I think the restaurant is too busy that they miss little about one or two complaining orders.
That was our first experience in the zaffran and it was bad. we booked the banquet for my man birthday on open table, there was a $56 deal. we were told about the phone, the deal was old and the banquet is $70 pp. when we were. to the restaurant, we sat, we sat long wait, with waiters standing around. after 15 minutes of being unattended, we asked for the drinks menu and ordered a bottle of sparkling. 15 minutes later and nothing, we followed the drinks. 30 minutes after the arrival of a waiter asks if we were ready to order our food. we explained that we were there for the banquet we had booked. he checked the menu and checked the banquet “price” we wanted. the food quality and taste was ok and comparable to food dish quality food. not a nice edifice. starters were okay. then the bottle was served sparkles. the mains were very small. 6 garne in garn curry and should serve 3 ppl. a bowl rice for 4 ppl. a couple of pieces huh and meat in every dish. dessert was very bad, two small globuls of kufi probably less than 2cm in diameter. the taste was not good either. 20mins later waiting for the bill, we saw a post with a table number on the table we realized we had to take to the counter to pay. it was not great for nabenby's birthday and not for an average dinner, very disappointing. Maybe ala carte would have been better. but unfortunately not back.
Beautiful authentic Indian cuisine, with a magnificent environment over darling harbour. good value for money, with very friendly staff.
First time visiting Zaaffran. The food, service, prices and portion sizes were great. Highly recommend the Butter Chicken. We enjoyed our dinner on the balcony overlooking the harbour.
Before going there I checked the reviews online and they were absolutely correct. I would say best customer service we ever had. Food was amazing, nice location and views and top of that we received surprise cake as it was our marriage anniversary. We all...Loved it and had good time at Zaaffran.
