This place is an experience, not just great food and service.
There is long corridor leading to the venue entrance which very coolly sets the mood for the dining experience. At the entrance, you get the feeling of a speak-easy restaurant which isn't something I've come across before.

What Ashtyn Rempel doesn't like about Norsk Dor:
Service: Staff are nice and attentive to what the customers need. Quick service.Ambience: Classy and comfy. Not too loud music.Drinks: Has a variety of drinks from beers, wines, house blends to mocktailsLocation: The entrance is a stairs which takes you to a dimly lighted alley, but don't be intimidated by the alley cause it takes you to this lovely gem. Cocktails and decor were highlights. Food was dull and grossly overpriced. Apparently, the menu has changed and it would seem that quality has slipped. Go for a drink but don't bother with the food.
N O R S K ☆ D O R We followed the wolf howls to this underground Viking inspired restaurant in the city. Greeted promptly and seated in a very busy restaurant, we opted for the degustation menu. I know that everyone is raving on about this place ‘oh is so Scandinavian’ but sadly, I was pretty bored and average food. The bone marrow was jelly like matter and lacked any flavour, almost every dish had some sort of pickle element and to be honest, very disappointed with serving size. You have to pay $70 per person to receive ONE plate of each dish to share. We ended up ordering an extra main dish because it wasn’t filling enough. The only things that I enjoyed was the really good cocktail and the atmosphere inside. But that’s it. Won’t recommend this place at all. ✌@foodiesguidetosydney

I wanted to love this place. I read such great things in the Melbourne media and decided to make this our dinner venue on our Sydney trip. The good - the entry is super cool. You walk down 2 flights of stairs with howling wolves accompanying you down. Feels a bit Hostel like - but in a good way. The venue is beautiful and great care has been put into the details including the animal skins on the chair backs. Cocktails were fantastic. The bad - when we booked the website said that is 6 entrees and a choice of main for between $59 to $68 (depending on your main). We were served by a gorgeous waitress who told that the menu was a 'journey' of 8 courses for $70 per person. As it turns out - this was not value for money. Between us we had a few pickles, two meatball, 6 pieces of smoked salmon, one bone marrow (they served only one bread-roll which made is hard to share), some goats cheese with beetroot, 2 very unpleasant carrot pies each the size of a party pie, and finally 4 pieces of venison. Work that out... we would have been better off ordering a la carte. When we queried the waitress why we didn't have a choice of main she said they introduced this new menu on Monday. Yet the website remains as old. We left with a bad taste in our mouth feeling cheated. I was so excited to be eating there and walked away feeling ripped off. Giving me 8 shared entrees and charging me $140 for the experience is shattering. Oh, and if you ask water still or sparking - tell the customer that you will be charging them $8 for a bottle of still water. Won't be recommending to my friends. Not worth your $$.
