eating was really nice and connected with large service. the restaurant is under the floor. the restaurant was almost empty when we had dinner on Friday night at 19 o'clock and we were on a scoopon deal. was excellent. I would go back and pay normal prices because it is one of the better Chinese meal I had in sydney. space good for company function or large groups. View all feedback.
What Kurt Dickens doesn't like about Emperor's Choice:
Service was quick and friendly and I had no trouble in getting a table in this basement restaurant mid week. However, I always worry when the menu is presented along with a selection of photos of dishes encased in a plastic sleeve. As per most...Chinese restaurants the menu was extensive with all the dishes you'd expect. This was not cutting edge cuisine pushing the boundaries, but all the regular Chinese dishes tast... The underground location had a bit of a musty smell after the heavy rain the day before, but the food was delicious and the service was excellent!
We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant in the city center. The food was overly seasoned with salt and MSG, despite sounding promising on the menu. We had difficulty getting a table on a Saturday night, but it turned out we were one of only three tables with customers. The drinks were also subpar, as my son had to resort to drinking tea from the teapot to counteract the saltiness of the food. To our surprise, we were charged an extra $5 for the hot water he used. It's no wonder they are selling vouchers now, as it seems like the restaurant is struggling. The fact that they are located in the basement of the building seems fitting. We won't be returning.
Always nice eating at a restaurant when you know you are paying less than everyone else. Great food, made even tastier knowingbhow much we were saving : thanks to the emperor
Food was really nice, and coupled with great service. Restaurant is sub ground level. The restaurant was virtually empty when we had dinner at 7pm on a Friday night and we were on a Scoopon deal. Value was excellent. I would go back and pay...normal rates as it is one of the better Chinese meals I have had in Sydney. Place be good for corporate function or big groups.
We were on a special deal with limited choices but what we had to choose from was more than adequate. There was a good choice across a variety of different dishes. Particularly liked the eggplant dish and the beef was nice and spicy. The special...deal came with two bottles of wine that where perfectly drinkable. I liked the ambience; the tables are spaced out so you're not sitting on top of each other. Would definitely pop in again if I was in the area and needed somewhere quick and tasty to eat.
