eating was really nice and connected with large service. the restaurant is under the floor. the restaurant was almost empty when we had dinner on Friday night at 19 o'clock and we were on a scoopon deal. was excellent. I would go back and pay normal prices because it is one of the better Chinese meal I had in sydney. space good for company function or large groups. View all feedback.
What Kurt Dickens dislikes about Emperor's Choice:
Service was quick and friendly and I had no trouble in getting a table in this basement restaurant mid week. However, I always worry when the menu is presented along with a selection of photos of dishes encased in a plastic sleeve. As per most...Chinese restaurants the menu was extensive with all the dishes you'd expect. This was not cutting edge cuisine pushing the boundaries, but all the regular Chinese dishes tast... Friendly staff. Poor girl standing on the front every night to make business. it is the place to which they go because it is not close because they want to eat beautiful
I thought I had died and went into the sky. (or at least hongkong). the yum cha scene in sydney is visited to an interesting hybrid of choices both from local and tourist. the choice of the imperial, one of the most famous old school places of the cbd, has won a hand again and again in both. despite its popularity, even it can not divide from the general decline of the dim sum quality into these, but that does not mean that it is not worth trying. because it is the oldest Chinese restaurant in sydney, eating in the eg has practically turned into a ritual of passage. we can begin with the good witness there is something that is congenital charming about its history and its semi-off of the beaten path position on...read more
The underground location had a bit of a musty smell after the heavy rain the day before, but the food was delicious and the service was excellent!
I got takeout from this place and it was really good. The staff was friendly and I even got a discount because I was taking it to go (which was nice since the Chinese food was a bit pricey).
We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant in the city center. The food was overly seasoned with salt and MSG, despite sounding promising on the menu. We had difficulty getting a table on a Saturday night, but it turned out we were one of only three tables with customers. The drinks were also subpar, as my son had to resort to drinking tea from the teapot to counteract the saltiness of the food. To our surprise, we were charged an extra $5 for the hot water he used. It's no wonder they are selling vouchers now, as it seems like the restaurant is struggling. The fact that they are located in the basement of the building seems fitting. We won't be returning.
