I was curious about the little bakery-style shop every time I went past on snow to repair my daily rice paper roll next door. curiosity has the best of me when I entered, it was not just a bakery, but an eastern caffe. the options of the middle eastern turns on regular favorites as well as the addition of middle eastern favorites like shakshuka and hafez mezza. my favorites hold for one of their wraps to lunch, the spice is well thought out and there is a perfect balance of pickles and sauce to brighten the delicate, smokey meat. I also wanted to try out the very popular lamb wrap, but every time I visited, they didn't have it on...read more
$5 special for coffee and manoush. the manoush did not seem like a breakfast thing, but was surprisingly good; flat brot with dukkah is quite funny to breakfast.
I was drawn in by the long lines when this place first opened and only had to see what it was about. the lamb wrap had the perfect amount of seasoning and labneh. the labneh manoush was overwhelmed by the labneh and we could not taste the flavor at all. the spinach and cheese triangle was more average needs much more spinach and much more cheese. not bad for a middle eastern fix around wynyard, but next time I give everything, but the packaging miss.
A very appealing Lebanese baker. du liban has a small but interesting menu, with some good healthy options. I tried the fattoush, a spinach and cheesecake and the golden milk. the fattuoush was a beautiful fresh salad (but would have received more granatapfel), the spinach and cheesecake was really good. the cake crust was actually a kind of brothy very light and cracked on the outside. I enjoyed my golden milk it is the way that I can imagine would really be comfort eating when they were charged to drink it. the people seemed to be nice, but a little confused it wasn't the waiting time that wasn't long. I look forward to some...read more
A very appealing Lebanese bakery cafe. Du Liban has a small but interesting menu, with some good healthy options. I tried the fattoush, a spinach and cheese pie and the golden milk. The fattuoush was a lovely fresh salad (but would have benefited from more pomegranate), the spinach and cheese pie was really good. The pie crust was actually some sort of bread dough - very light and crisp on the outside. I really enjoyed my golden milk - it is the sort of thing that I can imagine would be real comfort food if you were brought up drinking it. The people seemed nice but a little disorganized - it didn't affect the wait time though, which wasn't long at all. I look forward to trying some of their other specialties.
