I (vegan) went with my vegetarian hubby after a night shift, so I was famished. We shared the chips with aioli, healthy lentil wrap and breakfast tacos. ZOMG!!! Everything was so beautifully spiced and flavoursome. I think this would even convert my omni friends and family. Absolutely delicious, and beautifully friendly staff. We will definitely be regulars, well worth the half hour drive for us
This charming little café is conveniently located near the station. I tried the breakfast tacos, and they were fantastic. The coffee was delightful as well, with a wide selection of different milks to choose from. My friend, who follows a plant-based diet, ordered the healthy lentil wrap and really enjoyed it! The service was friendly, and the portion sizes were reasonable for the price.
I've visited this restaurant a few times because the food is tasty and the service is friendly. They have an outdoor seating area, making it a great spot to bring your dog. However, during my visit last weekend, they seemed a bit overwhelmed, and the food wasn't up to their usual high standard; it was actually a bit salty and they seemed to be low on ingredients. This isn't typically the case, so I’ll definitely keep going back, but it's something to consider when they are particularly busy.
Amazing vegan food in a friendly setting. Attentive staff eager to make your food experience wonderful. Love this Petersham cafe! can’tfault this joint. An inner west gem.
Upon entering, I was promptly seated and offered water. When I ordered a mocha, the server kindly inquired if soy milk was acceptable. It momentarily slipped my mind that they don’t serve regular milk due to the vegan theme, so I quickly checked the milk alternatives and chose coconut milk. Although it wasn’t as sweet as I typically prefer, it still tasted great, and the coffee is sourced from Di Stefano. I decided to start with the Mushroom and Tofu Momo—delicious dumplings served with a slightly spicy sesame and tomato chutney. The dumplings were expertly made, maintaining a perfect balance of filling and pastry. Next, I sampled the Teriyaki Silken Tofu Salad, which was not only vegan but also gluten-free! The focus was on texture and flavor; the rice, quinoa, and crispy tofu provided a wonderful crunch, complemented by the freshness of tomato and cauliflower. The dressing was tasty, and the added raisins offered a delightful sweetness. I would definitely return, as this experience opened my eyes to the potential of meatless dishes and the incredible flavors that vegetarian cuisine can offer.
