Was Deb S at Taco Queen a mag?
Absolutely the best Mexican food I've ever had! This spot is far from the typical chain restaurants. The dishes are deliciously prepared and served in generous portions. Prices are reasonable, and the waitstaff is incredibly friendly. This has quickly become my new favorite restaurant! View all feedback.
What Hank Longmire dislikes about Taco Queen:
I’ve been here several times and the quality has dropped sharply. Most of the former staff is now at “Taco’s Queen” near the outlets. I would recommend driving north a couple of exits to that location. View all feedback.
I tried the chorizo and steak tacos, and they were absolutely delicious. If you're seeking authentic Mexican cuisine, this is the best you'll find in St. Augustine. I rated them 4 stars because, at $3.99 per taco, they were the most expensive tacos I've ever encountered. (I've usually seen them priced around $1.50 to $3.)

I really enjoy the food, but their hours never align with what Google shows. They rarely answer their phone, and when they finally did, I was told they wouldn't take my order because it was too close to closing time. Since when is 40 minutes considered too close? Their closing times vary each day, which is frustrating because there's no consistent schedule. I’ve decided not to eat here anymore because it’s just too much hassle.
Plentiful portions and exceptional quality make this restaurant a standout. I really appreciate that they don’t overload every dish with cilantro. It's definitely a family-friendly spot with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Having spent 25 years in the Bay Area, this is the kind of Mexican food I remember fondly. The only thing I’d love to see added to the menu is some street corn!
