Perfect BBQ ribs. Brisket is not up to Texas standard.I would like to add some color. The establishment is a quintessential wooden shack with a delicious smoke smell. You order at one window and pick up at the other. My impression of the employees is pretty colorful too. They seem like young old school guys who drive pick-up trucks and love to make BBQ. I forgot to mention that the smoked chicken is really good too. The brisket is actually pretty good for the East Coast, but the Ribs are their Forte, and I don't think that I have ever eaten better. And I make pretty good BBQ myself. I include 2 pics of Smokin D's BBQ and a couple of shots of my own BBQ. When I say they make perfect ribs, I know what of I speak.
I’ve came here for years and always got a decent portion. Yea it’s always been a little expensive for what you get but that’s expected these days. However today I got the usual rib lunch that I’ve ordered over 30 times now…… usually I would receive 3 large ribs or up to 5 small ones. Today I was given 3 of the smallest ribs I ever imagined..basically half of the amount I usually get for the 13.78 dollars plus tip…. I been a loyal customer but come on guys this is just wrong. I simply can’t come back anymore. I could have eaten each rib with like one bite. Do better guys…. Especially for people that have given you business for years now. I hate bringing food back but this simply made me ask for a refund
This BBQ restaurant is located on US1, south of St. Augustine. You can order at the walk-up window and receive expertly prepared barbecue. Each meal comes with sides, and I particularly suggest trying the potato salad, although it tends to run out quickly! Everything is made on site. My husband enjoys the smoked turkey, while I prefer the ribs and chopped pork. The atmosphere is charming, but there is no seating available.
I absolutely adore this restaurant! While waiting in line, a fellow customer joked that he traveled all the way from New Hampshire for the food, while I only had a short four-mile drive. Living in a beach town, it's not uncommon for tourists to discover our hidden gems. The delicious food and friendly staff are what keep us coming back for more!
This BBQ restaurant is excellent, with a great smokey flavor. The atmosphere is fun and laid-back, with quirky signs and a lot of attitude throughout the shack. While there is no seating available, the food is designed to be taken to-go. We tried the beach buckets, which consisted of rice, beans, and smoked pork. The pork was so flavorful that it didn't even need any sauce. The prices are good for the high quality of the food. Vegetarians should be aware that despite a sign on the freeway claiming to be a vegetarian recovery center, this is not a place for vegetarian options. Overall, this BBQ shack is top-notch.
