Delicious food and great vegetarian options! Service is very attentive but not intrusive, a wonderful choice for a relaxing meal.
Staff pleasantly accommodated outside on a gorgeous day. Enjoyed the food and glad our pup could stay with us.
The service was excellent and the atmosphere was nice and cozy. We ordered lamb dishes for lunch and both of them were delicious, authentic Afghan dishes. The portions were generous and the price was very reasonable. Overall, it was an excellent experience and I highly recommend it.
Well worth a trip. The food is prepared with love, as they states on their door. Very fine Arachosian/Persian cuisine, similar to Northern Indian/Pakistani. Service was wonderful, food was excellent, and the price was definitely reasonable being in theDC. We went there Tuesday lunchtime, and it was packed with a bunch of happy faces. A few recommendation – Aushak/Leek andScallion Dumplings. I do not normally eat appetizers, but you do not want to miss their Aushak. They serve bread and 4wonderful sauces (yogurt/coriander, vinegar/coriander, mango, and something really spicy), which is worth mentioning. AracosianChicken (similar to Indian curry) was excellent, and so was Boneless chicken kabob (which is what I think of Persian food). Iwill absolutely go back to try their lamb and veal. The restaurant is well lit and has very nice atmosphere; upscale and nicebathroom as well. It is in a strip mall with a plenty of free parking.
This evening we shared a family meal for my husband’s birthday. We’ve all never been to an Afghan restaurant and were excited to try! Boy, we were not disappointed! We were greeted immediately upon entry. I didn’t catch the gentleman’s namebut you were extremely kind and gracious and patient with us as we decided what we wanted to eat. We had the Aracosian LambPlatter, Chicken Lawaan (no photo), Chicken Ground Beef Kabob, and a surprise Cardamom Cake when we mentioned we werecelebrating a birthday! All the food was delicious!! Try all the sauces with the bread. Each had their unique flavor. We highlyrecommend if you ever have the chance, set your reservation and enjoy a dinner at this establishment.
