We have been to this restaurant many times since it was originally opened by Adrian Sankey who had his glass blowing workshop and kilns next door. read moreNestled in the scenic heart of Grasmere, this restaurant offers a mixed bag of experiences. While diners appreciate the swift service and pleasant ambiance, especially during inclement weather, the culinary offerings leave room for improvement. Many highlight the disappointing and inconsistent food quality, ranging from burnt starters to poorly executed mains, which contrasts sharply with the high service standards. Guests also lament the limited beverage options, particularly for non-drinkers. However, some visitors rave about the breakfasts and other delights from the café menu, ensuring that while the restaurant may miss the mark at times, the surrounding charm and certain dishes still beckon return visits.
