We went to this restaurant for bruch a couple of weeks ago. The atmosphere was great. My friend and I ordered the Belgian waffle and both of ours were so burnt they were cutting our gums up even trying to eat. By the time staff actually came and asked aboutthe meal they served us it was too late and we were ready to leave soon. We asked not to have the order remade. Our other friendhad the shrimp and gets which was fine but I was disappointed to see the charge on my bill afterwards. I'm not going to argueover burnt breakfast but it's little things like this that make me not a repeat customer.
I went around 9pm on a weekday and all the tables were full. Waitress seems surprised I wanted to make a takeout order. Bar area was very cluttered. I ordered a burger, bacon wrapped porkchop, and the scallops. The wait was about 35 mins. I tried to callover the phone to avoid the wait but the phone lines were busy. When the food was ready, they informed me they didn't have thescallops. They could make something else or issue a refund. Having already waited 35 mins, I didn't feel like waiting anylonger. This review is 4 stars because that bacon wrapped pork chop was delicious though. Amazingly tender. Anything wrapped inbacon is usually amazing but this was elevated. It sat on a bed of really smooth sweet potato souffle. From time to time hiddenin the stuffed pork chop you get bits of spiced apple. Amazing.
We enjoyed delicious food that was both savory and sweet, along with delightful cocktails. The cozy, intimate atmosphere added to our experience, giving it a distinctly European vibe. We will definitely be returning!
Nice place with good atmosphere. The beer selection is hit or miss but the food never disappoints.
The bar had a cozy medium dark wood decor and was filled with about 25 patrons scattered in small groups, some indulging in bar snacks while others were just enjoying drinks. The third couple joined us at 5:30, and then we proceeded into Restaurant Cote. The restaurant shared the same wooden aesthetic with bare wooden tables, although the pictures showed white tablecloths, likely for later in the evening. Our waiter, Billy, offered us menus and brought us another round of drinks. I had glanced at the online menu the previous day and was pleased to see a nice selection of New Orleans-style seafood, sandwiches, and burgers, all described as upscale and intriguing rather than plain. I discovered two duck dishes that weren't listed online. While Billy suggested the second option, the Old Time Duck, I decided to go for it. He mentioned it would be cooked medium rare, which I confirmed was my preference. Three of the others ordered the fried shrimp basket, while the last member of our group opted for the Sportsman's Plate, which included a small mixed salad that I requested with creamy Italian dressing. When my duck arrived, it was topped with a delicious crayfish sauce over one of the best-cooked duck preparations I’d enjoyed in a long while. The meat was perfectly pink in the center, with crispy skin and the fat rendered to a delightful gel-like texture—not raw and not burnt. The duck breast was sliced into quarter-inch pieces, and the sauce was outstanding, featuring crayfish and some other unidentified ingredients. On the side, there were roasted Brussels sprouts that were also fantastic. They thoughtfully provided us with hot square rolls and butter, or I would have considered licking the plate clean! My wife typically leaves some of her entree to take home, but this time she nearly finished all her shrimp. When she offered me the leftovers, I gladly accepted. I initially thought the shrimp were butterflied, but they were simply large and delicious, with a chunky batter and the tails still on, served over a bed of fries. My friend's Sportsman's Plate looked enticing, containing various items, though it wasn’t a seafood platter. I didn’t ask him how he enjoyed it, but it was completely empty by the end of the meal. His wife was the only one to take leftovers home, which is her usual habit. The service was excellent. Billy was attentive without being intrusive, and our courses arrived in a timely manner. The two entrees I sampled were unique and outstanding, so I would recommend anyone to give this place a try. With a six-hour Happy Hour next door, it’s wise to arrive a bit early and keep rush hour traffic in mind!
