Really good food. Beer was really cold. There was like a 40 minute wait, but that's because they were completely packed, with a lot of people waiting. Was well worth the wait though. Our server, Karly, was amazing as well. Definitely recommend. And getsome gumbo.
If I could do 6 stars, I would. My first time, we looked it up online and do not regret it. I had hall shrimp half later po-boy, my sister had shrimp, my cousin dip French, my niece club( too salty) and mi nephew the kid's burger. We also orderedchicken and andouille sausage gumbo and bread pudding. So delicious extremely satisfied. It was $106 for all of us. Not bad
We travel all over the county and have to say first and foremost this is a gem. At first glance this place looks a bit dive bar but do not be fooled. The food went beyond expectations and had us ordering more things to try because the execution was at sucha high level. It was seat yourself and we were greeted within a few minutes and menus provided. Our server introduced himselfand was eager to help us find what to order. Chris was very helpful and a delight. We ordered cocktails which came out and youcould tell were made with quality ingredients. We started with a cup of gumbo which was full of flavor and sausage. We ordered acountry fried steak with fries and Mac n cheese with roast beef debris (so worth the add on). I asked to have both gravys to trywhich I?m so glad I did. Roast beef gravy was not overly salty and rich. The white country gravy was thick and peppery. The Macwas perfectly cheesy and creamy. Also ordered a big mo jamma sandwich which had turkey ham and roast beef. You could tell howfresh and daily made everything was. Not a corner cut in this place. After being so amazed we had to try the chili too. A goodkick without an abundance of chili powder for the prefect balance. Order the bread pudding and peach cobbler to go. Homemade anddelicious ending back at the hotel. Before we left, Chris, one of the owners stopped to thank us for coming in. We have to sayour experience is one of the absolute best we have ever had. We will find ourselves coming out of the way to visit here again Ipromise. Try it out and order everything you can. They absolutely deserve to be high on anyone?s list.
The roast beef poboy was mid. Not traditional New Orleans french bread. Prices are fine, and service was great. My bar for poboys are very high, so I should have known to ask about the bread beforehand.
Southside Cafe is one of our regular go-to places to eat out. The service is always great. The food is fantastic. We never leave hungry. We LOVE the atmosphere and their Veteran support. Whenever we have family or friends visit they always request at least one meal at Southside. Definitely worth a visit!
