Although my father owns a restaurant, this is my favorite place in town. The owner, Guru, treats me like family. The food is exceptional. I even had one of my bridal showers here and Guru and his staff went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly. He knows my preferences so well that as soon as I sit down, my mango martini is already on its way to the table. That kind of service is unbeatable. View all feedback.
What Krisstal S doesn't like about Indigo Indian Bistro:
I don't mind paying top dollar if the food is worth it and I've lived in NYC and DC in the 2020's and am well traveled. The food at Indigo in Shreveport is not only OVERPRICED but also NOT very good. They cannot produce an itemized receipt and when I demanded they produce one, it was off by $3. They could not explain the charge total discrepancy. This is an easy way to SCAM customers. This place is amazing! Drove over an hour to get here and it was worth every minute! It’s a mom and pop restaurant with the kindest owner. You can tell he really cares about the food and the atmosphere and everything about this place! Prices are also decent. We got the lamb chops and it’s the perfect amount of flavor and spice. We also got the lamb curry and the meat was so tender and cooked to perfection! Thank you for an amazing experience!
The food is good. There weren 't as many buffet options as another restaurant in town with similar food. The service is.... cringe. We were both overly showered with attention and ignored. By that I mean SO much small talk, but as our drinks were in need of refill no one was anywhere to be seen. A bit annoying really considering they obviously want to be seen as a restaurant that is a cut above.
The food was very good. Great flavor and perfect amount of spiciness. Lots of options to try different Indian entrees and vegetables. I loved them all. I’m a celiac and it was safe and the server brought me beef I could eat. The service was excellent.
Just had lunch buffet (only option for lunch). We were the first people there. There were 10 vegetarian dishes including two types of rice and vegetable curries. We tried all the veg dishes and I have to say this is the most bland, unspicy, and tasteless Indian food I have had anywhere. Terrible. It's almost like they are afraid to add some spices to Indian food. We did get one piece of nan, which was fresh but quite doughy. Worst of all, there was no dessert with lunch buffet! Every buffet I have been to at an Indian restaurant has at least one dessert gulab jamun or kheer. But nothing here. And the buffet, even before considering the bland food and no dessert (and one Coke), was almost $40 for two people. Way overpriced. Would not recommend and would not repeat.
Wonderful food and very hospitable owners. Always enjoy visiting when I go in to pickup an order.
