So disappointed. The reviews had us excited because we love hole-in-the-wall and local places, but our visit left us very unhappy. One big issue was that we felt unsafe. Although there were signs requiring masks and tables were set apart, many customers (not just the ones at tables) were mask-less and the woman who took our orders pulled down her mask to talk... Thank goodness they had a plexiglass barrier! Although we were just getting takeout, there was nowhere to go that didn't have us in closer proximity with people than I was comfortable with, so I waited in the car while my husband waited for our order to be ready. The pickup area was crowded, and he felt unsafe as well. I ordered one of the specials, a rockfish and shrimp basket. The shrimp was pretty good, but the fish was dry and the breading lacked seasoning. The hush puppies were okay, and the corn nuggets weren't bad. My husband got the soft shell crab sandwich with fries. He was satisfied but didn't feel the food was better than other places we've tried. The sauce was good and I co-opted it for my shrimp. So overall, if you like fried seafood, it's decent but I've had better. If you're trying to follow CDC guidelines, I'd stay away.

This is the quintessential local experience. The food was fresh and delicious, and the ambience was odd. Don't hesitate to stop for an incredible meal and memory. Best scallops I've ever had and the shrimp pitas were to die for. Even the French fries were amazing. Excellent sides and seafood all around.

First let me say that I normally don't like fried seafood because it's usually heavily breaded and greasy. Same goes for the leaden greasy hushpuppies. Well, you won't find that here!! Stumbled upon this unassuming gem while traveling for business. The number of cars in the parking lot was a good indication. When you walk in, it looks like a typical fish market that you would find in this area with a fish counter full of fresh offerings. Go around the counter you'll see some tables booths and a window into a small kitchen. You order at the register next to the window are given a number. When your order is ready, you go to the counter to pick up. We were in heaven when we got our food! Everything was fried to perfection with a light flavorful coating. The scallops were huge fresh! The soft shell crab was out of this world!...so juicy and flavorful!! The hushpuppies...I have to rave about these!! They're light, with a delicate crispy outside leading to an almost cake-like interior. They were delicious!!! The portions were generous and the prices excellent. Best of all is that this is obviously family run. Needless to say we polished off everything. This place is a definite keeper on my list I honestly am still covering another taste of those scallops soft shell crab. If you want ambiance, this isn't it. If you want service, this isn't it either....BUT if you want great Down East seafood, THIS is a must try!
