The Stags Head

Description

The Stag's Head in Sheffield, a longtime favorite pub, has recently received mixed reviews. Some patrons were disappointed with the quality of food and lack of cleanliness, while others found the staff friendly and the atmosphere welcoming. Despite food temperature issues and outdated playground equipment, the pub's beautiful outdoor seating area is a hit. Accessible by bus from the town center, The Stag's Head offers a good selection of beer and satisfactory meals, making it a worthwhile visit for those looking for a casual dining experience in Sheffield.

At the time I was in no one else was but it is a great place with a big beer garden

This is a lovely pub with a great environment and atmosphere, I just wish that every time I visited the gent's toilets weren't flooded from the overflow of the tank into the single metal urinal. Sorry to be explicit, but it would surely be better to replace the whole shared unit with three individual positions and a cistern that did not overflow continuously. This has been going on for years.

Worst Thornbridge pub I've been in. The toilet was like a swimming pool. In need of a deep clean as other people have said. With the sort of money Thornbridge has it's a disgrace they let the standards drop so low.

It's not bad. It's ok. There's a kids playground so lots of people go for that. But it's a good job there is as the drinks are so so. The food is so so. The service is so so. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Unfortunately this pub is dirty and in desperate need of a deep clean and renovations to meet its potential. Of the 4 meals we ordered, the garlic chicken and stag burgers which just about acceptable but the fish and chips was pretty unpalatable. The batter was over cooked, the white fish was grey. We were hungry so picked at it for the best bits and the remainder our dog ate. Hopefully the owners will see the desperate need to renovate both the interior and exterior of the pub and do something about the quality of the food. Wouldn't recommend until changes made. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2
