What Ashley D doesn't like about Carvery:
Rustic and old-fashioned in all the worst ways. The pub actually stank of defecation, like reeked of it. The staff were so weird and clueless. For example, they expected us to order without giving us a menu and would rather act like we inconvenienced them by not bringing a menu in with us or something when we asked for one upon them asking for our orders about a minute after we sat down. Lovely authentic atmosphere. Professional and friendly service. Cauliflower soup best I've ever had. Delicious choices and excellent cake and cuppa selection.
Really excellent food and service. The carvery is consistently good, in fact I've never had a bad meal here. The waitresses are professional and attentive. Just a brilliant place all round.
As newcomers to the area, we were advised to try out Hardwick Inn for a meal. Our family visited and we were all thoroughly impressed. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and everyone in our group agreed that the food was fantastic! The Inn is charming and picturesque, with ample outdoor seating, including a covered bar for those who prefer to drink outside. We will definitely be returning to this place in the future.
My companions and I decided to have a Sunday Roast after visiting Hardwick Hall. We were able to get a table outside on this sunny day, although there was a bit of a wait to place our order. We all opted for the Carvery, which had a good variety of vegetables and meats. Overall, the meal was enjoyable (though the beef was a bit tough), but the gammon and turkey were tasty, as were the vegetables. The customer service was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. While there wasn't a specific kids menu, they did offer adult meals at a lower price as listed on the menu.
We had a meeting and decided to choose the Hardwick Inn as our meeting spot. It had an old-fashioned charm and plenty of hardworking women on staff.
