The Palais is a beautifully scenic place, featuring an impressive exterior as you approach and a fantastic outdoor area perfect for enjoying cocktails and drinks while watching the sunset over the beach. In the winter, the interior is still pleasant, but the extended indoor/outdoor dining area can feel quite chilly. The food was delightful and beautifully presented. However, the drink specials listed were not accurate, and one of the bar staff members was rather inattentive—serving a mid-strength beer when a special was expected, and not following up on a request for additional seating. For a venue that likely faces challenges during the winter months, this was disappointing. That said, the rest of the staff appeared friendly, and overall, it was an enjoyable visit.
This is our favorite spot whenever we visit Semaphore Beach. We often look for other restaurants, but we always find ourselves returning to Palais because of their delicious food, reasonable prices, and generous portions. I especially love their chicken schnitzel with parmi and Kilpatrick toppings. The only dish I wasn't fond of was the beef schnitzel, as it was a bit chewy and rubbery, but that's just a personal preference. The spicy chicken wings were definitely spicy and juicy! ❤️ We can't wait to come back for more calamari and wine. Thanks for having us, everyone! :D
The seating area was fantastic, and we enjoyed sitting outside with our puppy. The staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient, making our experience even better. The food was exceptional! The oysters were delicious, and the schnitzels were perfectly crispy. The chips and salad on the side were also very tasty. I highly recommend dining here!

I might be a bit tough with my 3-star rating, but I found this place to be just slightly above average. The location is fantastic, and the ambiance is really nice.
