I have been home 20 minutes I only live 5 miled from the pub I left home at 6.30 n returned at 9.10 after only a starter n main n one drink. the pub as a lovely warm welcome we was the first people in there too order food we ordered at 6.45 had a starter at 7.00 and our main came at 7.50 two steaks one medium and one rare. (one word) crematured after being disappointed with the 8 quarters of mushrooms on the starter I decided to send the steaks back the young chappy was more than happy to help. but we didnt then receive our re made meal till 8.20 the steak was then cooked ok but in all this time the childs fish fingers chips n beans had still not arrived when it did arrive it was fish fingers n mash no veg no beans no sauce. the chips rather greasy on the steaks n the fish gingers was cheap n nasty. the waiter brought the bill which had 2 starters 2 mains n a Childs on but yeat the total said £63 when I added the meals up it came to 31.75 so I waited and waited and waited some more for the waiter who never came back so I went to the bar n explained the bar man apolagised n took my money. I was very upset as these reviews read good n the pub us in a lovely setting but was a very poor stressfull evening..... won't return

If you are looking for your food to be a picture on a plate and come in minute quantities then The Sloop is not for you, but if you are looking for food that is well presented, comes in generous portions and most importantly tastes great then, The Sloop is for you. Well done Angie and Bob.

Walked in bought a beer, asked if we were bikers and we said yes, was introduced to Bob the landlord who is a biker, never made so welcome, had a twenty minute chat, shared some silly stories, my friends and I will certainly back to soak up the friendly atmosphere, well happy

It was a cold Thursday night, the cupboards were empty, didn't fancy fish n chips so we headed to The Sloop Inn for our tea. Angie and Bob are the hosts and both are welcoming. The fire was roaring as we walked in, the hand pull real ale was fantastic as Bob keeps probably the best pint of handpull in the area and our tea was... fantastic! Fiona got the liver onions on a big dollop of mash which was really tasty and I ordered the 16oz rump steak, which came with HOMEMADE chips (just like me gran used to do them! onions, mushrooms, peas cooked tomato. As soon as it was placed in front of me I was in heaven. The steak was an inch thick and dominated the plate! I'd ordered it medium and it was perfect. nicely pink in the middle but not oozing blood Angie can cook steak! We ate the lot! The Sloop Inn only uses top quality meats from local farms and you can really taste the quality. We left the Sloop with our bellies full and money still in our wallets because this place is not only great quality but good value too they don't over charge. What you get is great food, local village pub atmosphere, open fire and real ale just how a pub should be! 10/10

If you haven't been....good. Don't go. More for me! You know somewhere is really good when you have to wait for a table. Angela really puts a fab Sunday roast together however more roast tatys please....then again she's seen the size of my butt! A great indoor outdoor dinning room . Great for kiddies and run by a family who pull together and create a great atmosphere.
