Nestled in the heart of Belltown, Rendezvous offers a unique blend of history and ambiance. While the intimate setting and live performances are often highlights, dining experiences can vary significantly. Some guests have struggled with poorly executed brunch dishes and long drink wait times, leaving much to be desired. However, the vibrant bar scene receives praise for its skilled bartenders and enjoyable cocktails. Regular events, like trivia nights and movie screenings, add to the venue's charm. Overall, Rendezvous boasts potential; yet, diners may want to tread carefully when it comes to food choices.

Was Anonym at The Grotto At Rendezvous a mag?
Saw comedian Tim Lee at the Jewelbox Theater located in the venue; used to be an old speakeasy. Love the decor and intimacy. Bar had good pours and very reasonable prices. Lots of fun and good vibe. View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about The Grotto At Rendezvous:
This used to be one of my favorite bars in Seattle. It was purchased recently and the new ownership have completely stripped anything fun or interesting from the place. It is soulless and awful looking. They lied to and abruptly fired employees and cancelled shows and Events without contacting anyone. Several producers found out secondhand via social media. Add to that how completely rude and disrespectful they have... View all feedback.

The prices for drinks at this restaurant are outrageous, especially considering there is only one bartender and the wait to order is quite long, even in the basement.

I went to the Rendezvous for dinner and drinks this past weekend and was blown away at how awesome it was! The historic ambiance is unlike any venue in Seattle. The staff was charming and made us feel right at home. We started off with two of the signature cocktails, (totally recommend the French Kiss and Upright Citizen) then shared a couple of small plates which were delicious(summer salad grotto chicken sandwich were two of our faves!)It's definitely our new favorite spot in Belltown and will be coming back!

It is soulless and awful looking. They lied to and abruptly fired employees and cancelled shows and Events without contacting anyone. Several producers found out secondhand via social media. Add to that how completely rude and disrespectful they have been to anyone voicing even the slightest bit of criticism to them. Do NOT give these people your business. Any other establishment in the city is a better place to spend your night. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I can’t recommend The Rendezvous under its new ownership. The way this transition was handled showed a complete lack of respect for the artists, staff, and community that have kept this space alive for decades. Instead of speaking directly with employees or event organizers, the new owners let everyone go and cancelled all shows by posting on social media. Many people found out they were out of work or that their events were gone with no warning, right before the busiest season of the year. Some staff still haven’t even been allowed to collect their own belongings. This isn’t just about “renovating” a space. It’s about erasing the very people who gave it meaning. The Rendezvous was a cornerstone for Seattle’s creative community, but treating staff and artists like they’re disposable is not honoring its history—it’s destroying it. Seattle deserves venues that actually value the people who make the art, not just the profit. Until that changes, this space is no longer the community hub it once was.
