As the descriptions say, it is a dive bar, but it was worth the dive. The staff was personable and nice. The food arrived quick and was delicious. It was suggested by the hotel staff to pay a visit, it was well worth the time to heed his words. Only downfall, seats are a bit cramped for my liking, but it has definitely earned it's iconic status to me. View all feedback.
What Eveline McClure doesn't like about Mecca Cafe:
Long story short, if you're from out of town, make sure you have enough cash on you. Their POS system is so outdated your credit card won't clear, and the staff would rather you sit on the phone with your bank for 90 minutes, rather than do the troubleshooting and key in your credit card credentials manually. Good food, nice people, but don't let them steal your valuable time. I wonder what the roaming charges are go... View all feedback.
The food was good here, but the wait staff really seem to be overworked. Our waitress was doing everything she could to take orders, and serve food, but she was doing it by herself. Seating was at a premium and several people that came in right after us had to wait quite a while. We were staying at the Mediterranean inn and it was a short walk to the café from there. The neighborhood around the restaurant was somewhat depressed, and it seemed a bit dirty outside. Even though the waitress was extremely busy, we got good service. Our food came out in good time from when we ordered and the orders were correct. If we were to stay in the area again, I’m not sure that we that we would eat there again.

Established in 1929 this place is a trip back in time. But if you want a home cooked meal, this is the place to come too. They serve all three meals so you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. And just a shor walk for our Hotel The Mediterranean.Food: 5/5
Our first family vacation to Seattle in three years and stumbled upon this place near our hotel. Patrick our server was so nice and so friendly, after a long and tiresome day of sightseeing and exploring everyone was full and happy after our meal. Even had leftovers for breakfast. I highly recommend the bottles sodas so good. My 9yo said 10 stars. Food was great, service was excellent, music was loud but that’s because we were seated over in the bar side. My kids loved the music too. Definitely recommend. After we left Patrick ran out after us because my son left his hat. Such a great guy
