Reviews summary

Macrina Bakery has become a beloved fixture in Seattle, offering an impressive array of baked goods, from artisanal breads to enticing pastries. While its cornetto can be polarizing, many appreciate the diverse selection available for breakfast, including muffins and sandwiches. The cozy Belltown location makes for a pleasant spot to enjoy a latte, though some patrons note occasional service hiccups, particularly during busy hours. Notably, their walnut sticky buns have garnered rave reviews for their delightful texture and flavor. Despite some inconsistencies, Macrina remains a tempting destination for those seeking quality baked treats in the city.

This place is excellent. Hand made'artisan' bakery. Unfortunately I've tried multiple offerings (see photo from hotel room) and they are all excellent. I'm actually glad I live in another state, or I'd weight 300 pounds. If you are in Seattle, this place is worth searching out. View all feedback.

What Nathalia Y dislikes about Macrina Bakery Cafe:

I ordered through DoorDash and requested a sticky bun and brioche burger. Unfortunately, they were out of brioche bread but instead of contacting me to offer a replacement or cancel the item, they made the decision on their own and sent me bagels instead. I dislike bagels as they are heavy and hard. They did not only waste food but also displayed a lack of concern for the customer. View all feedback.

I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. The staff was average, not overly friendly but not unfriendly either. I decided to try the walnut sticky buns and they were absolutely delicious. It was the best dessert I've ever had. The bun was fresh and soft, and the topping was irresistible. I will definitely be returning to try more pastries and sweets.

Just a heads up, if you come here 30 minutes before they close, they will not make any coffee beverages (lattes, cappuccinos, etc. as they will have already shut down the espresso machines. I suppose the staff have to leave right at closing time for the business to save profit. Also, they're not dog friendly, which is totally okay with me but figured I'd mention it in case anyone walks their dogs to their local coffee spot! Aside from the coffee machine being shut down earlier than they close, it's a pretty decent spot and they make a good latte. Their baked goods are delish and they have tons of options.

Most disappointing Macrina Bakery experience. Croissants were decent but the bagels were overcooked and very tough to chew. Avacado toast tasted average at best. They didn't have sugar free options in coffee when I visited. We also had to wait in line for 15 min while there were only 3 customers before me. It appeared to me like the same person was taking orders and preparing them as well but I later saw that there were more people working inside. Not sure why it took so long. The situation with a line got even worse around the time we left.

I had to spend a week working in Belltown, and Macrina was the most convenient place for morning espresso. How lucky I am that it is such a wonderful place! The service is friendly, and the baked goods are amazing: both delicious and beautiful to the eye. I'm sure I gained weight during my stay. I'll return if I'm ever in the neighborhood.

This place is absolutely great! An excellent selection of bagels pastries morning foods sandwiches soups… You name it! Service is on point and the people are super friendly. We sat inside but there was also an excellent area to sit outside as well. If I ever make it back to Seattle I’ll definitely be visiting again.

Right when you walk in you see loads of absolutely gorgeous pastries. It's almost a sensory overload! Portions are incredible. I had the breakfast biscuit(sausage, egg and cheese) , substituted the sausage for bacon and a blueberry scone. Absolutely amazing! Perfect texture, balance of flavors etc.

You don't have to go to a Macrina bakery to get Macrina baked goods because they are in almost every coffee shop in Seattle. The pastries aren't top-notch though. That's what annoys me when I see Macrina's stuff everywhere. Macrina's croissant is not even a croissant, but its Italian cousin called cornetto–a softer, sweeter, and less buttery version, basically a bad croissant. It breaks my heart to see cornettos everywhere in Seattle. The biggest strength of Macrina is their variety and I give them credit for that. They have a lot to offer, breads, pastries, muffins, cakes, as well as breakfast sandwiches. A visit to Macrina can easily make a full breakfast. They are a bit pricey though, especially considering the quality and taste of the pastries are nothing spectacular. This location in Belltown has only indoor seatings but they look cozy and people seem to enjoy spend some time here.

We had breakfast here before going to the space needle. The food was very tasty and filling. I can have breakfast here every morning given the chance.

Directly when they see in them to foot loads of absolutely beautiful baked. it is almost a sensory overload! portioning is incredible. I had the breakfast Biscuit(sausage, ei and cheese), replaced the sausage for speck and a blueberry cake. absolutely amazing! perfect texture, balance of aromen etc.

I ordered hot chocolate and a chocolate cornetto, both were really good and the service was good too!

Came here for some coffee, and ended up getting the Morning Glory Muffin as well. It was super tasty, and the top of the muffin was crunchy because of the raw sugar on top. The shop is pretty spacious as well!
