**Dining at Iconiq: A Culinary Gem with a View** Nestled in the Mount Baker neighborhood, Iconiq combines French, Italian, and Japanese influences to create memorable dining experiences. Patrons rave about the exquisite dishes, including the standout foie gras risotto and perfectly cooked seafood, all served with an impressive backdrop of Seattle's skyline. While the cozy ambiance and attentive service are highlights, some diners recommend improvements to the staffing model. Overall, Iconiq is celebrated for its creativity, exceptional flavors, and reasonable pricing, making it a must-visit for food lovers. Advance reservations are advisable as this hidden treasure gains popularity.
The server's knowledge and his ability to explain the dishes in a "foodie" manner—while remaining approachable and easy to understand—were on par with what I've experienced at much more upscale restaurants. The view of Seattle from the windows is stunning as well. Iconiq is located in the former A La Bonne Franquette space, which might feel familiar to regulars of that restaurant, but Chef Toshi has truly taken the cuisine to a whole new level! My only suggestion is for them to develop a chef's tasting menu to offer an even more creative dining experience. The prices were in line with the quality of the service and food. I worry that this place will quickly become popular and harder to book as more people discover it. We will definitely be returning!
The view, the ambiance, and the food—all combined, this restaurant is truly exceptional. Toshi is an incredibly skilled chef, and the experience here is one you have to see to believe. I give it five stars!
Chef and owner Toshi is a much-needed entrepreneur in Seattle, blending French and Japanese ingredients in exciting ways. The kelp butter is outstanding and deserves to be packaged and sold. While there is only one Washington State wine in the mostly French collection, it pairs perfectly with Toshi's dishes, which are best enjoyed with high-quality wine.
I dined here a few years ago for my anniversary with my girlfriend. We reserved a table a few weeks in advance for a window seat. After arriving and sitting down, we were asked to move from the window seat to another table for another party. At this point my partner and I should have just left. This left a poor taste for us and literally ruined our night. Food was mediocre and staff was not helpful at all. Staff did not do anything to remedy the situation and did not care that we had to move from our seats after sitting down and starting to order our meals. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. It was literally the worst dining experience of my life. I warn all my friends and family not to come here. Shame on you.
