This private brunch for six, which required vaccination, was likely one of the top three meals I've ever experienced. Eric crafted a unique brunch that was infused with vibrant Puerto Rican flavors, unlike anything I've had before. After not dining indoors for a year and a half, I felt completely at ease thanks to their careful attention to safety and vaccination status. It was truly remarkable. Make sure to go before you miss out!
I've had two meals here before: a curry tasting, and a Puerto Rican tasting. Both were absolutely fabulous. Have you ever been to a tasting menu where the portions are big enough that you take an entire extra meal gone yet it's still all high quality and delicious? Neither had I until I found this place. The chef and servers were so attentive and welcoming. I've never had a chef come out and have a genuine conversation with me before during my meal. The server was also extremely knowledgeable about the menu, and also wine pairings. The restaurant itself is a really cool vibe with good music, a lovely ambience, great food, and good people. I absolutely love this place and can't wait to go back! They have a huge range of fun activities from the Oregon trail with fabulous food to high end caviar tasting. No place in Seattle has the same quality and spunk
I ordered a 5-course takeout meal for two, along with wine, through Tock. The payment went through, and I received an email confirmation. However, when I arrived, I was informed that they didn’t have my order at all and that they had stopped offering takeout service over a year ago. The owner was there, and he was impatient and rude, unwilling to provide any explanation and insisting that I leave. I was confused and upset, feeling like an unwanted customer. Eventually, he agreed to reach out to Tock, and I did receive a refund, but the experience left me hurt. I will not be returning.
The owner of these restaurants seems to be quite out of touch. He has publicly stated that he supports people eating unhealthy food, which is concerning. No rational person should endorse someone with that mindset. I won't be returning to any of his locations in the future. They've lost a dedicated customer who used to recommend them to many friends and family.
One of the other rules recommended against driving afterward and suggested booking a hotel, which I did and paid for in advance. My friend and I were really looking forward to this special evening, especially since we had only seen each other a few times during COVID. However, when we arrived, the restaurant was closed—not out of business, but just not opened for the day. Imagine us standing outside in 100-degree heat with a confirmed reservation! With no phone number provided, I sent an email and received a response two hours later. Eric shifted the blame for ruining our evening and our expenses onto a "print out error." He has a reputation for calling out issues in the industry, often stating things like, "If I see something stupid, I'm going to call it out," and "How do you bring people in and show them that you actually care?" It's clear to me now that Eric actually doesn't seem to care about his customers at all! There are plenty of other reviews echoing this sentiment.
