Nue stands out for its innovative, globally-inspired menu that transcends typical brunch fare. Diners rave about dishes like the South African Bunny Chow and Chengdu Chicken Waffles, celebrating their bold flavors and creative presentations. While some patrons found particular dishes, such as rubbery pork or overly savory ice cream, less appetizing, many were impressed by the overall experience, including friendly service and a charming atmosphere. Guests appreciate the restaurant’s commitment to unique flavors, with highlights such as garlic fried rice and delightful cocktails, making Nue a must-visit destination for adventurous food lovers in Seattle.

My recent visit to Nue left me with mixed feelings about the overall dining experience. While the ambiance and food quality were commendable, certain aspects of the service left much to be desired. One notable aspect that caught my attention was the inclusion of both a service fee and an automatic 20% gratuity. While I don't mind paying for exceptional service, it raised my expectations for the level of service I would receive. The transparency in fees is appreciated, but it also set a high bar for the service quality that, unfortunately, was not consistently met. On the positive side, our main waiter on Sunday demonstrated professionalism and efficiency. He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and provided timely service throughout the meal. His efforts significantly contributed to our positive dining experience. However, the same cannot be said for the other two servers, both of whom were ladies. Their service was noticeably lacking in comparison. It seemed as though they were either overwhelmed or disinterested, resulting in a less-than-satisfactory experience. Our requests were met with delays, and their overall demeanor did not align with the level of service expected, especially given the additional fees imposed. It's important to note that while patrons may not mind paying service fees and gratuity, the expectation is that the service matches the financial commitment. Unfortunately, this was not consistently achieved during our visit.

Bunny chow was excellent, super flavourful and filling. Wouldn’t recommend ordering it for takeout because it becomes quite soggy but the taste is still there. If you like African or Indian curry, you’ll taste most of those spices in here.

The Shakshuka at this restaurant is pricey, and it's more like sunny side up eggs on top of a thick tomato sauce rather than a traditional baked dish. However, the French fries are excellent.

I had been looking forward to trying the mofongo, but it seems like it may have been removed from the menu because plantains are likely out of season. However, I did enjoy what I ordered instead - pineapple cornbread and French tacos without the carrots (due to my allergy). I would definitely suggest trying out nue. The food is unique, and I also enjoyed the seating. Seattle, show some love to nue with good music and great vibes. I will definitely be returning.

I found this restaurant to be cool, but I must admit that I wasn't overly impressed by the food. It seems to be more of a concept restaurant that emphasizes international dishes rather than exceptional quality cuisine.
