Peebles Fish
Description
Located along the river Tweed, this recently rebranded fish bar, previously known as Mario's, offers a typical selection of fast, deep-fried favorites. Diners can enjoy items like fish and chips, burgers, haggis, and even pizza, all served with generous portions of salt and vinegar. While some patrons have noted the freshness of the chips and the pleasantness of the staff, others have expressed concerns about the quality of the batter and the freshness of the seafood, with mixed experiences regarding cleanliness and stomach reactions. On a red hot sunny day after exploring the river Tweed for hours we stopped off for a snack. Chips cooked while we waited, lashings of salt and vinegar, eaten in the sunshine. Absolutely perfect Pleasant, helpful staff. Job done!
Only been here once, but staff were really friendly and efficient and the food was tasty. Great varied menu, Will definitely be returning
This restaurant offers a standard selection of chippy items with a good range, including pizzas. Although child portions of meals are not listed on the menu board, they are available upon request.
Fish and chips twice. Walked back to the car to each them. Strange taste and smell. Went in the bin.
While passing through Peebles, we came across this fish and chip shop. After being on the road for a while, we were hungry and decided to stop for some fish and chips. We were extremely disappointed to discover that they were out of fish. It was a fish and chip shop with no fish! I ended up settling for a steak pie supper, while my wife only got a bag of chips. We left feeling very disappointed.
