We were looking for somewhere to eat on the way home and liked the look of this restaurant. The welcome was friendly, the restaurant, spotless, clean, and brightly lit, we felt very comfortable straight away and started warming our way through the extensive Indian menu. Service was quick and efficient, the staff, pleasant and friendly. The food was very tasty and the whole experience was very enjoyable, a really nice stopover in a remote location. Outside of the cities, it can be hit or miss choosing a restaurant, but this was a great choice, Saffron is average in terms of food, but in a very, very good way. Definitely recommend. Decent vegetarian options, too.

Fantastic menu flavours awesome service always outstanding Usually book in with visiting family but yesterday was passing at teatime and just called in on the off chance. I have eaten Indian food in all continents but Saffron remains my favourite. The small intimate setting means you’re wise to book as it gets very busy. Congratulations to all for consistent quality authentic food And creating an ambience to match.

It took 20 minutes from p... read more Friday 17th November 2023. Last night at home we opted for takeaway for dinner so we chose Saffron Indian restaurant in Innerleithen…. It took 20 minutes from phone call order to us collecting our meal … the staff at Saffron are helpful, pleasant and friendly and checked the contents of our order to make sure it was all present and correct. The meal was piping hot and absolutely the best Indian take away meal I have had … thoroughly recommended. We will be back SOON.

With the pressures of keeping a business going under this awful pandemic, they have managed to continue to serve up delicious meals which, at the time of writing, are for take-away only. The food is excellent, service is great and we are so lucky to have this business on our doorstep.Thank you Belayet and the team, I hope you continue to receive the deserved support from the wider community and look forward to when you open your doors again, hopefully soon.
