Primal offers a mixed dining experience of underwhelming dishes and excellent service. While some guests were unimpressed with bland flavors in dishes such as carbonara and pork agnolotti, others were delighted by the fresh and flavorful cuisine like bison carpaccio and mushroom risotto. The menu's 5-course feast option received mixed reviews, with some finding it overwhelming and expensive. However, the restaurant's lovely rustic decor and attentive servers received praise. Overall, Primal may be hit or miss for different diners, but its atmosphere and friendly service make it a recommended spot for special occasions in Saskatoon.
Nice atmosphere, good service. Not as loud as some of the new places. The appetizers were fine and well presented (although both were raw foods so hard to mess up). The mains however were just OK, and certainly not tasty enough to justify the artistically small portions. Left hungry, which you don't really expect after having pasta.
We are huge fans of the Hollows but had never been here before. Loved the atmosphere! The food was delicious - would definitely be back!
First time at Primal Pasta ... I'm a big fan of the chefs' other restaurant, The Hollows. As expected, Primal Pasta delivered. A very well composed and tasty pork scaloppini dish. The kitchen has a great eye for composition and flavour.
We had an absolutely delightful first experience at Primal. Blown away by each and every dish selected for the 5 course, along with its wine pairing. Beware the desserts will haunt you every night....I must have more of the sorbets and meringue...sorbet and meringue....sorbet...and... meringue...
Outstanding meal. We had a group and decided to do the family style 3 course meal. It was amazing. No many flavors and textures. Out entire evening, from our cocktails, appetizers, mains and dessert were amazing. And our waiter Connor tied our evening together to make it an outstanding dining experience.
